There are reasons why things are they way they are. Latest rumor is that celica will be catered to your dad and your grandpa. Latest rumor is that people are also trying to buy environmentally and gas efficient vehicles. What boggles my mind though is that while toyota keeps scratching their head I see the general trend sort of "leave" toyota cars.
Just look outside your window and count number of all wheel drive subaru wrx. You can stop counting at 10 because you will be done counting in probably next 10 minutes.

Sure lets built fuel efficient vehicles... but lets also at least try to retain your dignity or something. There are now far more evolutions and sti's cruising around than there are honda and toyota vehicles. Not everywhere, of course but toyota has arguably kissed their sports vehicles good bye. I think what is happening is that as all of us car tuners growing up we tend to "upgrade" to what is available.

As for revival of celica... we are going to see exactly what is it in just little bit. Tokyo motor show is just around the corner in october. I think.... well I know.. that if this little promotional concept car will turn out to be a sports dud then my next vehicle will be either evo9 or evo10. My 11 year commitment to toyota brand,,, and my parent's commitment to toyota brand is stretching thin.

Bottom line is that people buy sports cars knowingly that they will be eating gas like crazy but deliver all the fun in the world. What car manufacturers need to do is keep producing sports cars but price them lower. Lets look at evo vs sti debacle. One costs 30 and one costs 40. Both vehicles are comparable but one comes out to $800/mo and another to about $500 and therefore you see far more sti's than evo's. If toyobaru was a all wheel drive bucket of fun priced at $400 per month I swear I would jump on that idea so fast its not even funny.
i see more of the newer mustangs more then anything else, havent seen a sti or an evo for a while.ive seen more massaratis than subarus lol and a wrx for me is around $350 a month and i have no credit history, i guess you just have to talk to the dealer.

toyota is like austin powers, its lost its mojo.

It looks exactly like solstice.

When I commented on prices I went to www.mitsubishicars.... there evolution 10 aka raliant comes in mr, mrs, gsr models. gsr is cheaper but according to the calculator mr costs about 800 with 0APR. I would agree that one could bargain down the price and cost of deposit and trade in also play role when determining final price. Overall with no hanky panky evo is obviously more expensive. I would consider wrx but they seem to have made it look like ford focus 5 door and I like that baby in sedan.
I am just debating things with myself. I am being moved to new office which is only 16 minutes by bicycle. In all likelyhood I will either consider working on a celi or give someone here a really good deal on it and buy evo for offroad use. UNLESS... come october toyota pulls head out of their arse and reveals me a awd machine on steroids.
