Sweet, glad to see some interest.
The brake kit would probably require a different bracket to be c&c'd up for the ST but is definately doable. These brake kits we're developing, unlike the 8-pot brake kits on EBay and available in the aftermarket, should be much better suited to the car. 8-piston calipers on a giant oversized rotor is just way too big IMO and would probably make drivability suffer by being way too touchy. Being a four piston caliper with a 321mm rotor will allow for a much better pedal feel, but with alot of stopping power available due to the braking surface area. Plus, they'll be less expensive and have the ability to use OEM parts for upkeep. Punisher and I will work on getting a set or two installed, and then let you all know what our experiences are....hopefully we can provide a good upgrade for the community. ![]() -------------------- 3rd gen ST205 3SGTE - Alive and boosting. |

I don't really understand the need for a big brake kit. I have stock rotors with semi-metallic break pads and I can drive hard for 20 mins before I get significant fade. My GT will stop on a dime too. I've got some nice 4 piston calipers ready to be put on the front of the car, but I would have to scrap my 15inch racing wheels to run them. If you want a pretty car, just invest in some paint and stop worrying about big brakes.
Link to the brake pads I use. I have them front and rear. This post has been edited by Bigmeanbulldog55: Feb 26, 2007 - 9:23 PM -------------------- Live Free, Be Happy

Just to give an update, the big brake kit is coming along rather well. It shouldn't be too much longer now.

It uses a 321mm custom rotor and 4 pot calipers. The kit includes: 321mm rotors (options for drilled, slotted, or both) 4 pot calipers S/S brake lines High Quality pads Mounting Brackets The kit is going to be around 1100.00 shipped.. that price isn't set in stone.. we are aiming for lower. We will soon be in the testing stages. If everything goes good we should have the kits available by mid march. Sounds good ![]() It would be for the GT, unless the ST is the same as the GT? This is only the front. If rear is in demand than we can work on that after we finish the fronts. If we did a rear it would be nothing more than a larger rotor on a larger single piston caliper. You don't really want much braking power in the rear. We can make an ST kit then.. but we both own GT's lol. When we do an ST kit maybe we can get someone to donate their car for the mock up.. give them a free kit then ![]() you & corey are welcome to test the setup on my ST when the time comes |

Just some FYI, you should be able to run subura GC8 rotors on st202's without the superstrut. They would be able to work with the superstrut, but they are too small, therefore getting a bigger size persay, that of the stock 205 rotors would work just fine. I say this btw, because i am currently running GC8 rotors on my 205 (lol, funny story behind it) as a way of getting around for the time being. I also test fitted them on an st202 with and without superstrut for clearance issues.
Maybe for the point of having other options availible, they might also work the stateside GT's/ST's. If anyone might need a spare rotor for research ill be happy to provide them with one!! Or maybe also even a steering knuckle. Lol, but thats just reaching too far i guess. -------------------- (\__/)

None of us really know do we???? We keep hearing< "i heard they fit" There are thousands of totaled 7th gens in the junkyard. Somebody go pull off one rotor and one caliper. If the caliper has a mounting bracket, pull that off too. Why hasn't anybody done this? I cant find a 7th gen-thats my excuse. Somebody do this please. Lets solve this once and for all. We all benefit. TBH no one in the UK wanted to try this because every one in the Celica club UK agrees that the gen 7 celica brakes are the biggest let down on the car. Most even upgrade to the ST205 Calipers so why would you want to put gen 7 brakes on your gen 6? |

I had a 7th gen GTS brake system on my car for over a year and have no complains, it didn't feel as a obvious upgrade, but they perform really well, now i have upgraded to the ST205 brake system, and I have yet to really push these brakes to see how they stop my ST, I still have to do some tweaking to my suspension in order for the brakes to behave / perform as they should. -------------------- ![]() |

They were all GT's Though so iono. if anyones interested and they live in SoCal Near Riverside head to the pick-a-part on Pyrite of the 60 freeway thats where i've found around 4 before

(2pot) not available in the states and SS III ( superstrut ) brakes would involve some modification to work just like ST205 brakes. ![]() -------------------- ![]() |
