undo the front mount, let the crossmember hang a bit.
what i like to do is lift the mount up, then use my foot to push up on the front motor mount bracket, to rock the motor backward, as i pull the cross member toward the front of the car.
if you have someone to help, they can rock the motor, while you work the mount up and crossmember out at the same time.
good luck!

you dont have to support the wieght of the motor, thats the side mounts job.
the front and rear mount stop the motor from turning on itself more than anything else.

Or you can jack up the engine from the tranny to give you room after you remove the front mount and hang the crossmember. You'll have to play around a lil bit and wiggle it in.

Thanks for the input guys. I got the old mount out and the new one in. Ended up removing that crossmember that runs from the front mount to the rear and wiggled the new mount in. It was a pain in the butt but well worth it smile.gif No more vibration! Finally I can drive my swapped celica without having my teeth rattle loose.

You make it sound so easy... I had to replace that cross member that runs from front to back, and the rear mount was a pain. There are those two bolts that stick down from the bottom of the motor mount into that cross member. It took us releasing the suspension and putting a jack under the engine and lifting the engine to get those out and the new cross member back in (including a pry bar and two people). I was scared it was not going to go back in.

Oh this definitely wasn't easy smile.gif I think I got a little lucky, but I ended up bolting up the new bracket and positioning the motor mount approximately where it needed to be and fed the crossmember back into it's original position. The 2 bolts went right in with a little wiggling and everything came together. Maybe something to try in the future.

in addition to what you did, i loosened also some bolts under there dealing with the suspension crossmember whatever they are called.
