I always wanted a spare Celica to track. Well I would take a AW11 over it but still when you see these 6g's built for racing, there's nothing more beautiful.

Now all you got to do is meet up with Tiga^ and see who has the better setup tongue.gif

We are running a very old and very tired 7AFE - the lemons race has a very low budget (car + performance parts <= $500) so we opted for fresh struts + Vogtlands. The safety budget is unlimited so we ar using ST165/ST185 Front Brakes with EBC Red. If the car survices the Lemons race - we will make it a lot nicer I think - and we are closing up the sunroof - the shop that did the roll cage just wanted too much money to do it - I aslo think that they would have done a "too nice" of a job if you get my meaning... it really just needs to be closed or we have to wear arm restraints - safety first!

TBH - We had a shop speed shop do the work - when we spec'd out the roll cage we handed over a copy of the rules for the 24 Hours of Lemons located here:

http://www.24hoursoflemons.com/rules/

My answer is two part

- We did not specifiy it and it was not covered under the rules.
- The roll cage is actually a pre bent kit for a Nissan 240 SX.

Actually some people around here think that the kit fits the Celica better than the 240 SX.

I will try to get you the measurements your are looking for

Cheers -

Mike

Sweet ride dude, but wtf is up with the rules? lol

1.4: Claiming Race: At the end of the competition, the organizer--and nobody else, you lazy, better-car-wantin' bastids--may elect to purchase any vehicle from its owner(s) for $500. In other words, don't spend a lot on a cheater, cause if you do, you ain't gonna own it much longer.

1.6: Your Car May Be Destroyed at Any Time: In addition to accidents and other unfortunate boo-boos, one car may be selected by blind ballot of all teams for immediate removal and total destruction. It could be your car. It probably WILL BE your car. You'll have 30 minutes to yank out any safety items you want to rescue, and then it's toast. Them's the breaks. Don't bring it if you ain't OK with losing it.

Are they really serious about these two rules? Thats crazy.

Yeah haha.

Look up some videos on youtube. They get a tractor and smash the crap out of whatever car they choose.

The one I saw on youtube was a pretty nice looking BMW. The racers thought it was worth over $500, so they smashed the crap out of it hahaha. biggrin.gif

Year - tough rules for sure - but it helps keep teams honest and in the spirit of the race, which is supposed to be fun.
