depends men, you can always post here if you miss us, lol

a sentra is not a celica, and dont know what year it is. the celica is toyota, good car, put an engine in it, rebuild it yourself and learn.

you have a coupe and its nice, what you need is some serious power in it to make it fun.

i dont know anything about cars, and i will swap a beams, (fingers crossed) if i can do it, anybody can, just get an old 5sfe, rebuild it while you drive your car and then swap it and turbo. it will be more fun,

then you can still post all sections of 6gc, and not only in the off topic, to show your sentra. LOL

i would keep it, but thats just me..

Before I commit to either side, tell us more about this Sentra you are interested in. The Celica is a good car, even at 230K. Now, $3700 may sound like a lot for your car, and it very well may be. But it's not a lot of money at all. Your Celica is worth more to you than it is to anyone else. I want nothing more than to have a nice car that will turn heads, and be fast when I feel like having fun. I'm always on Autotrader, car shopping. But I just cannot bring myself to sell my car, when I know I've got a head-turner with great potential to go fast sitting in my garage. It's worth a LOT more to me than anyone else. It's got 169,000 miles on it, so it's not worth much at all. I could sell it and buy something else. 350Z's are very affordable now. But I see more Z's than Celicas. All I have to do is swap a 3S into my car, and I have something more unique than a Z, and something (almost) just as serious. And I have it without the outrageous insurance cost of a Z. So, before you commit to selling your car and getting something that you think might be better, ask yourself, is it worth it to just pawn off something that you have put so much work and time into? Your car is uniquely yours. You have a history with it that nobody else has. It's just another car to them, but to you, it's something else. I vote keep it, save up some money, and get that car to be the next "Featured Ride."

For someone willing to give you that much, it's not a problem of getting a Sentra or not anymore. It's simply about selling a 94 with 230K on dash for a whooping $3700.

Then you can buy another 94 Celica for like a thousand bucks lower, or buy your Sentra... or whatever.

I'd say it's time for a swap then. Why lose a good thing? Although I think you just want more power, you didn't mention right away of any problems. You simply considered the mileage and using that as the reason it is unreliable. Toyotas are by far more reliable than any Nissan, and I am the first to say it. Two 2001 Altimas are in my shop getting a rebuild, one of which I am doing for my uncle, based on a factory issue that they won't or do not care to take back (I am sure he missed a deadline). Anyway, the motor was already rebuilt 4 times and only has 137k on the engine. I blew a 240sx motor (KA24), and my friend in class had a mid 90's sentra who also blew a whole in the motor. Oh yeah, there is also a sr20 in my shop, but that is because of a fault of a technician. RTV instead of a head gasket replacement, but the boy wants to work on it himself this time, although I wouldn't feel right exactly including that in with the others, however I am certain Toyota and yes, even Honda very much more reliable.

On MR2OC.Com, there was a gentleman who has his MR2 over 400k miles, still driving and modded a bit for street. Now how's that for reliability?

My friend just got out of B13 SE-R's. He said the SR20 motor, while extremely potent in the small and light Sentra body, is a complete nightmare to work on. Always having idle issues, studdering issues under accel. Etc.

Hell, even Coomer refuses to go back to the SR20. I think he's had three, one Infiniti G20 and two SE-R's (in fact, one of them was my friend's SE-R).

With that being said, my girlfriend has been beating on a Sentra GXE (GA16DE) and it's been reliable as any toyota. She puts oil and gas in it and it keeps on chugging.

It's like pulling teeth... redface.gif

Could you please post up a link, or some pictures/decent info? And are you looking at an SR20 Sentra or a SR20 240? I'm confused.
