yupp, for me it wasn't because I got the improper battery, its just that I got it almost free brand new plus they didn't have one for our celis anyways. I was just asking because I didn't put mine on at the time, once I tried it reached.

Whats so special about these batteries? Most customers I sold these too in the past complain that there pieces of expensive crap.

these are people who dont select the proper battery, install it improperly, or whatever.

the advantage to an optima battery is that it is sealed.
you can mount it in any position and it wont leak, and you can mount it inside the cabin without worry of fumes, or leaks.

from my own personal experience. Optima batteries hold a higher voltage under loads.

I've dealt with jump starting vehicles with a dead battery hooked up to a massive truck with the engine reving. The dead battery was eating up all the cranking power and the car would not start. When i pulled out a optima red top and gave it a go, the vehicle started right up.

With that said, I still don't use optima batteries. You can shoe horn a 65 series battery in the celica with 1000cca. That is 200cca more then a red top at the fraction of the cost.

"Most" new automotive lead acid batteries are sealed/not serviceable. A compromised battery however, i.e. over charged, still has the ability to exhaust.

For internal mounting you must use an appropriate battery box that is properly mounted (i.e. no more zip ties). Most cases its not recommends to install the battery box inside cabin. There are a million scenarios that could compromise a battery like an accident or overcharging - and you want none of that action around you. Stay safe kids smile.gif
