Vtec is for pussies imo.

what is your reasoning for this?

i-VTEC is amazing, espically in the DC5R and the S2000's.
those cars move and are honestly 2 of the most fun cars to drive, not the fastest, but fun none the less.

Prelude issue is timing belt. So i'm replacing that as well, the water pump as well, and alternator belt...

Friend has them laying around.

Price of fix: $0.

First off, when you need a car bad, are on a limited budget and all that jazz, a $500 prelude isn't bad. It definitely looks like it's going to be a project and need some work for a while but it's still a decent find I think. Maybe not for a DD, but ya do what you gotta do I guess.

So let me get this straight, the whole issue was a timing belt? What made you think it was a bad cylinder, or was this something new that happened? I'm a bit confused.

Good luck with it all though.

PLEASE tell me your not putting USED parts....ESPECIALLY a timing belt, on your car. And if I were you, I would triple check to make sure it was ONLY one tooth off. I'm not sure about the Honda F series motors, but some Honda engines are an interferance enigne. If it had jumped more than one tooth and IS an interferance engine, you might have some banged up valves. Bite the bullet and put a NEW timing belt on that motor. ~$30 at Auto-zone. If you need, I get a discount there and can get one for you. Don't cut corners with a Daily Driver.
