basically, anytime during daylight hours in any of the spots, there are going to be sight seers out, so there's gonna be traffic. really early in the moring isn't bad for traffic, but later in the morning (starting around 9/10am) people start going up. there are people up until about an hour or two after the sun goes down.
personally, i would rather that we don't use the names of the roads on these threads as random people can read it and i would rather the info not get into the wrong hands sort of speak. i did have an idea of another spot that has an amazing little road, very scenic and reminds me of the videos i've seen from the wrc cars at monte carlo. we could find a good meet up spot and then go up together. i'm game to go up whenever, but keep in mind that between late morning and a couple hours before sunset, the sun is so bright it has a tendancy to whitewash the backgrounds of pictures, so mid day photoshoots can be a pain for good shots. |

That's what I was thinking, there was some reason you said that either early morning or later afternoon was best for these special roads.

actually a bbq/picnic up there wouldn't be a bad idea, but i can't remember where we would need adventure passes and where we wouldn't need them. some spots require you to have passes in order to park. i'll look into it and see where we can go.

I remember looking at signs at asuza that say its required to have adventure passes to stop on the sides i was at GMR last night, there's a spot in the middle that connects baldy, azusa, and glendora that people park at. we could park there too. i was there from 11pm-1am though..never been there during the day so i don't know how it's like. i don't mind when we go, i like it there. so as long as we hit the canyons im happy. haha. it's a fascinating scene during the night too. :] there's a spot where we can have a picnic at the beginning section of glendora. What were you doing there at that hour there Mr? LOL jk Yeah it sounds good, but let's see what everyone else says who is going. -------------------- 91 MR2 Turbo SW20, 92 MR2 Turbo SW20, 95 Celica GT ST204

count me in!!! I got the weekend off for 7th-8th and I do agree with Derick that it's too soon but you have a valid point about not being able to have one until after the holidays, probably feb. of next year and for us new eager members, that is too long this is perfect timing so I see no problem with it esp because there were some members that couldn't make it to the last meet. Anyways looking forward to this! put my name on the list!

last time i checked, which was back in 2006, the passes were $40 for 2 stickers (2 cars). not sure if they've gone up and in order to park your car anywhere on most of the roads, you need the pass. i know of a couple camp spots/trail heads that have parking areas that may not need passes. should know in a few days what will work for us.

$20/person sounds good assuming this is an official spot for us to get together at. But please, if anyone can find out prior so that we know for a fact we can nab that spot, then cool. Because last minute meets are not exactly ideal. Last meet prior to your all last meet, we had to wing it, and even though we had a good turn out and it was fun, it left very little time for good photos.

Since we are doing a canyon run by popular demand and we are still working on which one would be our best option, a good central meeting place for us is going to be the Walmart in Glendora at 1950 Auto Centre Dr, Glendora, CA. Its just off the 210 and 57 freeways, so we will have good, fast access to get where we need to go. Faust, since you are coming from so far, what would be a good meet up time for you? Everyone else chime in on a good meeting time and we will go based off Faust and popular demand.
