truth be told...when it comes to the 6g running 13's while the civic runs 12's. suspension. bottom line. it's not power or weight but the fact that toyota suspension is designed to handle. and handle very well.

I know I'll be lynched for saying this, but no Honda on the market currently, or in the last 15 years has peaked my interest.

I drove my father's Accord when I was learning how to drive stick, and it had the worst shifter in the world. Of course, I didn't know that then, but now that I've driven other sticks, I can attest I see nothing that is great about it's performance OR it's looks. (the Accord has to be the most boring car on the road..especially the 90's and early 2000 models).

I'm sure you can drop a better engine in there, or put a bunch of crap in there to make it move faster than a Celica, but as a stock car they're horrid little things and the interior and exterior makes you want to fall asleep. His Accord was a silver one with a blue-silver interior with silver seats.... It was the most monotone generic POS I've ever been in.

Anywho, I'll get off that track...even stock the Celica is a beauty and is a fun car to drive. I don't get a car that will smoke the competition (or else my cars I've owned wouldn't be a Beetle, Prius and Celica). However, what I do buy are attractive, reliable, and extremely well balanced/fun to drive machines. I will never buy a Honda and I will never "get" them.

In my humble opinion, you can put spoilers, exhausts, lips, skirts, rims, ect on a box, but at the end of the day it's still an ugly box......that sounds like it's farting. That's another good point. When I rev my engine, my "noise" is a hearty noise coming from the ENGINE. The farting ricer Hondas I see all have their noise coming from the muffler, which tells me one thing and one thing only. It's just the exhaust. I'm not saying you can't do good things to Hondas, but I'm tired of people thinking that since their car is loud that there's power behind it. I want my engine to sing, not my ass.

Sorry for the crass attitude.. I guess it's just years of aggravation when I see these painted rustboxes passing by me every day on my way to work, trying to convince me to race them on a crowded highway.

I tried to avoid this thread at first and well temptation to post is that much more since I have some time this weekend.
Lets leave make and model aside and talk about things that matter. A driver can make all the difference in any car. So can tires and so can the car itself. I am by no means a worthy successor to Shumacher but I have been around the block a few times to make myself better than average driver. There is not a day when I do not exercise my right to conduct less than legal passes somewhere out there in my state. Not because i am rushing into but because other drivers feel like they have something to prove. Whether its pulling up to a gas station or 7/11 or blockbuster or grocery store, there are always drivers out there who show absolute disrespect for my vehicle. When they see a celica they immediately jump to guns and think that its slow and that its a girls car and then they see my taillights about 20 car lengths in front of them and try to justify their loss to bad shifting or some other unforeseeable force. I don't know how fast my car runs on 0-60 nor I know about quarter mile times. All I do know is when I have some fun with my co-worker's 2007 sti and my neighbor's 2005 evo mr I always come to the finish line first. It is not something to boast about nor do I intend to. I love their cars as much as I love mine.
So far out of dozens of fun moments I think I only lost once and that was before I put my greddy BOV. My car hit max boost and ripped coupling off giving me the biggest scare of my life for that year. But then of course my car is always lighter then opponent's and my horse power was dynotuned to 261 to the wheels and it does have engine management system but that does not mean that my car is better than person that I beat or do not beat. I always shake hands or give verbal respect to my opponent because I know how much tears and sweat and money went into building their machines. I always encourage people to be safe, drive smarter and race within their bracket. Mine just happens to be in between early JDM and mid pack jdm. I am sure that my car would not stand a chance against something like a ferrari but heck with 200 more horse power or if it was gutted out like a wrc car is ... maybe.

I say we promote encouragement, respect and help people get the best out of their cars safely.

owning an All-Trac, 6th gen, 7th gen, and a MKIV Supra. Honestly the car i like to drive the most is the 6th gen. Its just an all around good looking car. rides smooth and handles well. i love my Supra and the other celicas, but the 6th gen is my favorite

ok this is just my opinion, i may only be 19 but i have driven my fair share of hondas, infinitis, lexus's, and a few tegs and here is what i have found out, the car i learned to drive with was an 03 civic lx, and it was slow as **** and had a lot of body roll to it, but i thought it was cool because i used to be all about hondas. then my mom got an 03 accord with the 2.4 lier I-vtech, and let me say this car will scream, but it is ugly as sin and the handleing is horrible, now my second car i had for 2 years was an infiniti j30. ugly as ****, horrible handleing, but it was rwd and i loved that. and it had the 300zx tt motor in it, yes fast but extremley hard to control, if it was moist outside the ass end would kick out, so i sold it and bought the celi. the celi being my first 5 speed i love it, she is the best handleing car i have ever driven, and my dad has an 09 IS 250 AWD, and i stil prefer to drive the celica and it is great on gas, just a little slow, my dad who is 45 years old would rather drive my celica to work than his IS 250, now thats saying something, even though he works for toyota, but the celi is by far the best i have driven

This is kinda biased, We're talking Civic/Integra Vs Celica on a Celica forum. Lol

But I can honestly say that in no department is any Civic or Integra better than my Celica.

(Possibly because it's an ST205 Celica lol, So I'll leave you folk to defend your USDM versions tongue.gif)

Accord > Camry ... Just bough a 2004 Accord EX I4 and it has been nothing but the best ride, heated a$$, and XM radio all day long. Now dont get me wrong the Camry is a smooth ride my mom has an 05 XLE loaded but she is asking me to drive my Accord and trade for a few days...my accord has a higher KBB than my moms 05 with almost the same amount of miles.

Integra > Celica ( only because the celica is so sexy ) Integra does not take near as much to make it look good. and will rape a celica in performance. I drove a celica for three years and have been antagonized by all my honda friends.... it is just to be different...which is much needed when everyone in the world has a Honda.

I hate to say it as much as everyone else cause I love my Toyota, but ...
