I'm pretty much new to this forum but i've gone through and read most of it. I know i could have done a motor swap or a head swap but i wanted to see the potential of the 7AFE on my own. I have a 7afe in a 93 corolla ( i know its not a celica but its the pretty much the same motor that comes in some of the celicas) with quite a bit of mods. oversize pistons 11:1 comp, pauter rods, balanced and knife edged crank, toga oil pump, web cams regrounds, David at Headgames did the head completely with the Tb and manifold, 4-2-1 headers and a short ram. I was needing to tune the computer though and I havent been able to find much when it comes to that other than piggy backs or stand alones so i was needing some recommendations if any of you could give me an idea.

All the work you have listed above is just making way for what the 7a loves....and that is boost.

yea, a little supercharger there would go well with the high comp. running just 3-5psi on that with some water-air intercooling would really be what you need now. as for tuning, standalone is the best option.
however if you want to use a SAFC2 i have one here WITH the boomslang plug and play harness. i'd let the safc2 and harness go for $150 (the harness itself cost that much). PM me if you're interested. -------------------- |

Is a supercharger setup possible on a 7A? I've thought about that as well. -------------------- '97 ST \ Eibach \ KYB \ Kenwood \ Alpine \ Cusco \ OEM+ [sold 10/18]

I appreciate the boost idea guys, but that's going to wait a little while on down the line. What would you guys recommend standalone wise? How much would the piggy back contro?l because I'd really like to change rev limit, speed limit, fuel/ign curves, etc etc.

e-Manage Blue works fine. That's what I had. Get the additional injection harness and the ignition harness. The ignition harness you only use two wires out of the whole harness. Or was it the injection? I can't remember. Anyway, you only use two wires out of one of the harnesses.
I have a question, though. Why would you want to twiddle with rev limit? Are you planning on doing head work and installing aftermarket cams? If not, there is NO reason to raise the rev limit (which is only possible with a standalone EMS). You won't gain power, but you'll gain more engine wear. -------------------- |

OOBE, our injectors are batch fire, so two wires. have u been using emanage blue all along? I have AEM FIC. What do you know about our ignition wiring? I'm not sure if the FIC actually does much to the 7AFE ignition,.

Yes, used the e-Manage and it worked beautifully. Well, it controlled the ignition timing like advertised. I used a digital timing gun and it showed timing changes on the spot. I have to take a picture of my ECU because I cut the e-Manage wires to sell it three weeks ago so they're are still little stubs soldered to it and it shows the color of the wire. It can help out whoever needs to install one in an ST.

The head and cams have been changed and worked over. It's got a 5 angle valve job, milled, full port and polish, over sized valves. Cam specs are 204/204 at .050 .327/.327 valve lift 110 lobe center. What stand alone would you recommend since the emange wouldn't control everything that I'd like to adjust
