my parents camry is 151k and easily has a hundred to go...

^mostly this was a bit of a joke post. Also I wanted some advice for what I should do to keep it alive/improve it, aside from the obvious things that I took pictures of.

If your implying that 140 is something to be proud of, well it is. Sure you have much more miles on yours but, I am quite happy to have this car still alive. I thought for sure it would be dead a year ago, turns out I was wrong.

when those cars were new i remember how much i wanted one of them. Now, well different story. If it takes you from point a to b i guess its ok.

I actually recently got fired from my job so, Celica isn't coming within the next couple months, but hopefully my newest venture can net me some money so by summer time I'll riding high in style B).

Quick note:

Well, this saga has come to what appears to be an end. Unfortunately, a trip to and from San Francisco has taken a toll on my car that I never thought would happen.

The car's muffler has now just been destroyed. It still starts and runs, but I don't trust it with my life anymore because it is making horrible sounds, the interior smells like exhaust fumes, it feels like the shocks are just completely gone and it needs new fluids/air filter.

At this point it would be more economical to call this car retired and sell it for scraps. I think this car has one more trip left in it before the problems overwhelm it. Which is too bad... as much as I and other people bagged and laughed at my car, I loved it. It was reliable and a great source of fun and I trusted it with my life totally. Now I wouldn't trust it to take me 20 miles without dieing (it was nearly dieing on interstate 80).

I haven't gotten a mechanic to look at it yet, but I would suspect that it would cost an astronomical amount to fix it from its current state. I figured sell it to the guys who rip apart these cars and piece it out for parts, maybe make $300 for it. I'll just save up for a year and get me a brand new car (or a really amazing Celica ).

Not a bad idea, my dad met Xzibit, said he is the most paranoid guy he has ever met. Cool guy, but really paranoid. It would be awesome, but really this sure is looking like the end because I don't want to spend that much to fix up the ole' girl.
