Any update on the mudflaps? I have emailed the company two times this week. Each time they assure me they'll call THEIR supplier and let me know the next day. Yea.. uh, not the case thus far.... Trust me, I'm growing just as impatient about it as you are lol. I understand I'm ordering something from Britain, but I have gotten something from Vincent in that amount of time AND ordered more from him. I bet both batches will come here before the mudflaps do haha. I'll let you know as soon as I do, promise . Thanks for keeping the interest. What company have you used? -------------------- |

www.directcarparts.co.uk is the place I used. I wouldn't recommend them....
The "direct" part in their address is total BS. This post has been edited by CastrolCelica: Dec 2, 2009 - 12:18 PM -------------------- |

Ok guys. I finally got a straight answer.
Apparently, the mudflaps were went out via Royal Mail ......Monday. Yea, this Monday. So them telling weeks ago that they were sent out, ect ect was just a bunch of lies. Seems like they forgot to send out my order, and shoved it in the mail Monday without telling me... as if I'd not notice. Ah well, at least I'll be getting it soon....hopefully. -------------------- |

With my luck, these won't be pre drilled or pre fitted either.. even though they are supposed to be made specifically for the 6cg. I believed them at first, but now I'm wondering how far the lies will go. -------------------- |

I just got an email from them.. again today.
"Good Afternoon, Just to inform you that the mudflaps left the suppliers on the 19-12-09 it usually take 2 weeks. Give it to the end of next week if you have not recieved them please let us know. Karen" YEAAA, that makes sense! It was mailed in the future and thus will be here next week. ****.. even if she meant November, 2 weeks later would have been this week, not next! -------------------- |

I ordered the black ones that say "celica" before thanksgiving. Except the place I got them from was called "Performance Creations" based in Bolton UK. After I paid them they told me I have to wait 2-3 days to make them cause they are made upon getting orders for them. So they don't have them made and in stock. Once someone buys them they go and make them. Apparently they sent them out on the 26 Nov, (thanksgiving) and I still haven't gotten them. Royal Airmail to the USA takes 5 work days, not including Sat. Also remember they are gonna take longer cause they have to get cleared through US customs. I'm dying for mine to come. It sucks cause Royal Airmail doesn't have the online tracking feature. I got them in black to look nice with my silver Celica. I got the same ones you got. They might be the same store cause the place I got them from had the same picture of that red celica as a ad for the mud flaps I got.

well, if things go bad with the shipping and what not, let me know and i'll send you the link for a company here in the states. all the subaru guys i hang out with at rallyx events really love them and they just recently made a universal set that costs under $20. if my ikea flaps fell apart, i would have some by now, but i keep waiting for the ikea mudflaps to die before i buy the rally armor mudflaps.

Going back to the speakers, I may have missed it but did you end up going with 6.5 or 8in speakers?
if it was 6.5 you had to make custom brackets? and for 8in speakers...is it possible to put them in w/out having to fab/modify anything? |

They were 6.5 and we had to make a custom front bracket out of sheet metal

They were 6.5 and we had to make a custom front bracket out of sheet metal Yep. Btw, I realized why my speakers are popping and stuff. The aux cord that came with the unit is crud. I realized the speakers sound great with radio and CD/DVD, but not with that. I have a new aux chord I'll be installing tomorrow and that should fix all my issues . -------------------- |

A couple new shots:
Btw, I came to the sudden realization. DONT TAKE A CAR WITH DECALS TO AN AUTO CAR WASH. I've done this like 4 times since I put the decals on with no problems. On the black box that encloses the 4 on the passenger side, a small part of it has chipped off. Needless to say, even though almost impossible to see, it pissed me off. I'll be doing washes by hand, but now I'm worried about winter. If ice is on there, then gets ripped off on a bump, I don't want it to take vinyl with it. If it gets worse, sad as it sounds, I'll be removing the decals and focusing on making it just a simple white Celica... which would break my heart. Maybe I'm over reacting to a freak situation, but now I'm just nervous about what I thought would be a 5-7 year long strong bond. ANYwho... I fixed the aux cable to the nicer one from my Prius. Now there is no popping and the sound quality actually sounds like the Alpines I thought I had. Here's a few pictures. If anyone installs an aux cable into their head unit, I heartily suggest you don't use the one it comes with. This one is a Belkin and works flawlessly: -------------------- |
