Definitely need either the lens, or the whole assembly, probably the latter because I've been tweaking with the housing and it's almost looking like a lost cause, but oh well. *ahem* http://www.6gc.net/forums/index.php?showto...mp;#entry814178 -------------------- '97 ST \ Eibach \ KYB \ Kenwood \ Alpine \ Cusco \ OEM+ [sold 10/18]

My buddy does welding inspection and has all the tools(lives in Temecula), but hes out of town with work for a few weeks. i found the pick a parts, I called and they said they didn't have those parts for the Celica at the moment that I need. -------------------- |

i think there's another one out in san bernadino. best bet would be to go to yellow pages online and call all the junkyards in the area.

hey dan, you get the car back together? i saw one celica after i talked to you at the junkyard and it did have the driver's low beam, but the tabs were all fubared. lens was ok though. i hid it in the back seat. let me know if you're still gonna need it or if you want those projector housings.

I'm still working on the car, lack of funds kinda set me back a bit. I'm still working on trying to get my old bumper strong enough to work for the moment so it will at least be semi drivable until I get another one. I'll get back to you on the light stuff, just waiting on some money to roll in.

zip ties.............man's greatest invention......ever........................EVER! Totally, that and duct tape.... silver sticky stuff that not even a nuclear disaster could destroy.... only problem is, the side tabs where it actually bolts into the fender it what I'm working on at the moment, and yeah, I can do flat surface fiberglassing, but this corner crap is starting to infuriate me, so I took off the mask and started to relax and got pretty calm lol..... But really, yeah, I'm workin on it all, it's just taking a bit because money hasn't come in like it was supposed to yet and then my first time doing real fiberglass work. I figure its sink or swim lol. -------------------- |

if it was me (since i don't care too much about appearance of my celica), i would just find zipties that match the color of my car, then drill holes in the bumper and fender, then zip tie the hell out of the thing. i love zip ties.

Hmmm.... Sounds like a good idea. Only issue is, is I'm going to have to get some industrial, high strength zips, I need it to be able to take a cross country trip probably soon. Maybe if I zip and cover with duct tape it'll work... Hmmmm, you just gave me an amazing idea We use the zips that are rated to 45lbs for work sometimes, I'll see if I can get some.... It's only a temp fix for now anyways.

if you did enough of them, you would be fine. stitch her up and she'd be ok for a while. kinda like this.
then when you get the money, you can upgrade to a c one front bumper. |

Got her at least drivable on Saturday, not pretty but will work til I can source/afford parts...
Clear lenses are so much better and brighter, I'm thinking about busting out my other headlights after a bit lol I'll probably end up switching to projectors or fix the lens better on this one and then convert the others to clear after a while, just had to get it running and drivable for now And my roommate gave me a sweet little upgrade which I put in today(a mod you've seen at least once before, but still nifty) What might it be? Right there next to the clock, pretty little wired in radar detector(didn't have the main unit plugged in so it's not all lit up) -------------------- |

dood, i found a place down here that was selling real hid kits for $75 and i picked one up. so far so good and its a huge difference at night. nice thing is that my headlights aren't aimed up too high to where i'm blinding people. kit came with your choice of bulb (size and temp) and a ballast that is completely plug and play, no soldering or any of that. if and when you're ready to upgrade, i'll get you the info on them. car is looking a lot better than i had imagined when you were telling about it. hopefully things will go a little bit better for you.

Sweet, I'll have to jump on that Chris. I still need to trim a bit on the plexiglass to fit better, and then add some more fiberglass to the front bumper to strengthen the sides when I have some down time. I have the top bolted up, and the sides are just zip tied. It holds amazingly well, and the headlamp, I've gotta trim down the plexi a bit more and then I'm going to shape up a second piece to go around it so it will mold right into the housing just like the factory glass. I finally found a dremel tool, so that helped a lot. I had to bend the brackets back and reweld a few things, but so far so good. And I know it all will hold for now because I was heading down the 10 going my average speed and a little more(you know the speed Chris), and all was well. Also, a truck kicked up a rock and it hit that headlamp dead on, and there isn't even a scratch, I'm loving the plexiglass, stronger, I guess lighter, and only 3.50/sheet at my local home depot
