ok this used to be my old thread for my rims questions thats why theres replies and what not already.. i just edited it so that i wouldnt have to post a new thread and get flame for it. anyway i saw rims that are 18x7.5 with a 48 mm offset. now how sunk in are we talking about here?.. 48 seems so HUGE. opinions?

ok so as stated in the title.. will it fit the rim? would it have trouble holding air if it did fit?. will i have enough room in my wheel well and strut housing clearance? last but not least. will it look like A$$~?

I have no idea if there is a correlation, but since 7GC wheels fit on 6GC's, wouldn't the hub be the same?

Goonter i would run 25mm spacers. But thats just me and want it that extra bit aggressive.

make the overall offset as close to +10ish........well for my taste atleast laugh.gif


16x7 with a 38mm offset and a 72.62mm hub bore
even if you got 54.1mm spacers you'd still need hubcentric rings that you'll place in the rim. other wise all the stress will be on your studs (big no no). That will cause some damage over time. I recently sold a set of hubcentric rings my f/s thread to Samir. He got deals biggrin.gif too. I mean you dont have to get the hubcentric rings, but you're trying to flush your wheels and you should know the added stress.

hmm would that mean that i have to get extended studs?.. 25mm seems giant to me lol. but i would do it if extended studs doesnt pose any safety problems like would it be weaker than the original studs?

yah i know what you're 808 biggrin.gif.. i already found a set of 54.1/72.62 hub centric rings though biggrin.gif so i guess 10+ for flush?.. would i need to roll the fenders for a 10 mm offset?

you'd need to roll fenders no matter what laugh.gif 10+ would be hella flush, like you'd have to camber the wheels to fit under the fender. Then....drop the car so the fender touches the lip of the rim laugh.gif

the fender lip is like 1/2in so if the tire isnt near it then you should be good lolz

why dont you wanna roll fenders??

there is a guy in winnipeg who rents the roller out for $50 i think. i think i have his number if you want it.

Its going to be cost abit more with rollin your fenders etc. But its going to look a hella lot better. imo that is.

ok so i got my rims today. 16x7 with a 38mm offset and a 72.62mm hub bore. it says on wannabeGT4's wheel offset guide that 7" wide rims with 30 mm offset need 15 mm spacers for flush fitment. would that mean i'd need 20+ mm for flush fitment? >.>




WannabeGT4s wheel guide is not "flush" like you think. It is still sunk in the fender. Go to my link in my sig if you want an actual flush fitment that would need a stretch tire if you plan to lower the car quite a bit.

Not true. Hubcentric ring or not studs still retain weight. The hub ring's main goal is to center your wheels when you bolt them up.

if you go over 20mm spacers then buy ones which bolt on then allow you to bolt your wheel to the adapter/ spacer. You need 25mm minimum for this as your studs are slightly less than 25mm in length.

k so i was reading your guide harold. to my understanding, i should only need to roll my rear fenders yes?. and for the rear wheels flush fitment recommends -8 offset?. holy balls i would have to use 40mm spacers/adapters? wouldn't there be safety issues here?.. or something like "something ****ing up in the wheel structure faster" (bearings)?

Spacers are made from 1mm all the way up to "how fast you want to destroy your bearings". By this I mean I have seen 8in spacers, which is a joke but was a cheap way to wide body a narrow horrid offset wheel."

so if im getting this right...

Front spacers : 25mm with bolt on studs
Rear : a whopping 40mm spacers with bolt on studs?

also i didnt get what the "stretched tire" meant. as far as lowering goes my plan is 1.5 front and 1 inch rear. which Tein Stech gives

PS!: im so sorry if im annoying as sh!t asking so much questions. i'm just a lowly noob wanting my 6gc to look at least half descent
