taking them apart like that is easy, problem is you have to replace not just the balls but the races as well, one is pressed onto the hub shaft and the other into the knuckle itself. it has to be pressed out and the new one pressed into the knuckle and the hub pressed into the new bearing, the old race can be taken off by cutting a slit into it with a grinding wheel and then using a hammer and chisel to split it, it'll come right off.

mine were way different. it had a two chainber compartment within the housing and created a dual bearing/spinny action... or am i way fcuking off? i know my problem is fixed and i see how it works...

pics of this; that you speak of

breakdown pics = fine and dandy

i wanna doubble check my work here. i was just kinda "figuring it out for myself" as i usualy do...

I'm with easternpiro1 on this man... i'll bash autozone all day long. my local AZ is full of retards that only wanna see jacked up compensation trucks and anyone else is a retard in their eyes. i once asked about getting new spark plugs (ngk iridium of corse wink.gif ) and he told me NGK NEVER made plugs for anything other than farm equipment. laugh.gif

but the girl in o'riliey across the street is a fcuking badass!! seriously; trust the Irish!!

might i add good buddy, that you SHOULD NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE get your new bearings from auto zone!!!! they will sell you some from some company called motor city... ask illneversellmyceli they WILL eventually wear out.... go oem replacement!

Dont bash autozone; The price war between autopart stores force them to carry a line of cheapest of the cheap parts. Autozone sells timken bearings which is a well known bearing/seal manufactures.

IMO its OEM or timken for seals/bearings. Dont buy other off branded stuff even though they may be re branded parts, they lack the standards and specifications as OEM/timken.

oh i wasnt bashing autozone at all! i like autozone& advance!! i was just saying dont buy the bearings from them (motor city in particular)

o'rileys on the other hand.... eeennnhhh... kindasad.gif

You want power but have no money. That's a problem.

Cheap. Reliable. Fast. Pick two.

no, you're describing what i am, just looking at it differently. on the hub was a bearing race, then a set of balls, then a cup which is part of the other sides cup, then balls, then another bearing race.

ever taken apart a bicycle wheel bearing? looks pretty much like that, but larger scale and beefier materials.

i can't find a good photo right now, i'll try later.
