This weekend I am getting a full 2.5" exhaust from my header to my muffler, my car is already pretty loud but I was wondering if this will make my car obnoxiously loud and it may sound to ricerish. I do not have a cat, or a resonator. So can anybody tell me what the results may be?

no cat, no resonator? ew... It'll probably be pretty loud
A) good luck with emissions
B) good luck with the cops
C) good luck with road trips or any extended driving.

i disagree.

cops really don't care unless your revving up or holding gears.

mine only sounds ricey when you get on it when your at like 3grand in fourth other than that when its matched it sounds great tongue.gif

at the very least leave the stock downpipe alone alone if you go all the way its gonna sound sh*t*

The cops may not care, from a legal standpoint, but everyone else around you DOES care especially late at night when your loud obnoxious catless resonatorless exhaust goes cruising by.

And anyway, if you're even the slightest bit self conscious or sensitive to the sound, you're gonna get sick of hearing it REAL quick - I just did a cat-back on mine, no resonator, and the first month or so I liked it alright (it's a really deep tone) but now I'm at the point where I just want it to STFU already so I can hear the music laugh.gif

I guess you get to a point where once you reach a certain age, you don't want to always just drown out the sound with the stereo. Sometimes you just want to hear the music AND hear yourself think. And maybe be able to hear cars around you, in case one is honking at you or something.

OK so what can I expect performance wise? Anything really? Maybe a slight change in torque?

Going catless and no resonator is dumb. Why would you do that? Is it because you think you'll get mad crazy tyte jdm horsepower by running without them? Or are you just cheap?

Look, an intake, eBay header, and exhaust will net you very little gains. We're talking 5hp max, but realistically 2-3. Don't be dumb, don't be cheap. Buy a high flow cat and a Vibrant ultra quiet resonator (or whatever brand of similar design). You will have a subtle tone that won't attract the wrong attention, and keep you emissions passable. Running without a cat will make your car stink, and without a resonator its going to sound like a crappy Honda - even more so if you have a fart cannon muffler.

get a resonator.. my car has 2.5 cat back to a meagan racing muffler (my cat is hallowed out tho bc the cone was busted inside) .. the resonator will give ur car a more deeper tone sound vs a high pitch ricer civic sound.. i have a old school res a cherry bomb glasspack haha thing is sick if u ask me, it gives my car a deeper throater sound and isnt a annouyinh high pitch.. u can pick one up from advanced auto for 24buck$ .. worth it to me

your power band will feel different at first.. personally when i first got mines done i felt that i lost power, which i was told in the chat room i lost my low end torque but gained high end torque which i believe is true bc i can feel a better response in higher rpms.. your going to loose back pressure thats y u wont feel as much low end torque.. once u get used to the new power band you will love it.
