Maybe there is somebody on here that can help me out with my little problem here. Seems, after doing some doughnuts in a parking lot, my gas gauge has been acitng erratically, going on 3 months now. Anywho, what it does is when the tank is full, it reads completly empty. And when its anything less that 3 quaters of a tank it always reads half. Sometimes it works correctly, and the only way i can tell that it has been, is when i fill up my tank.
Anywho, anybody have any ideas on what causes this, and ways to correct it. Lol, i hope i dont have to drop the fuel tank, lol.. -------------------- (\__/)

Hi there I had the same problem I replaced the fuel guge sender in the tank It can be done from the boot (trunk) remove the mat in the boot and on the left you will see a cover with 3 screws underneath is the fuel sender with 4 screws holding it in it's the only one you can get without having to take the tank out replacing the fuel sender fixed my problem now it works fine hope this helps |

As above mate, almost definately the sender unit in the tank, doesn't usually require a new one tho just clip the white plastic box back in place & secure with a cable tie job done, should take less than an hour & you will see what the problem is when you remove the sender from the tank, very common fault but easily fixed
