Hey everyone. New to the Toyota/GT-Four/3SGTE world, and just picked up a 1994 GT-Four WRC Production # 2240.
It's an import from Japan, and has 83,000 km on the odometer. Going to keep it pretty stock aside from new wheels and perhaps a couple of cooling mods / monitoring equipment. I'm coming from the Honda world (my weekend / track car is a k24a2 CRX), and not too familiar with Toyota's in general, although I have ALWAYS been a fan of the 3s-gte and the gt-four. I bought this car as a semi-daily driver suited for the Canadian winters. This thing is a blast in the snow! Anyways, I'll be around the forum from now on to get my learn on. Here's a couple of pics. Plenty of Canadian GT4 owners popping up lately. I saw the screen name "texasnick" and I was really hoping to see a '4 in the States. Nice car, great find! Welcome to the site. Hope you stick around.

where did you get to know the exact production number of th WRC I wanna know mine too! As far as I know JDM WRC's don't have plaques like AUS SPEC. Do you have your JDM vin plate? He took that number off the Frame number, for example mine is ST205-0011162 and being a 1996 model the number is so high because that was the eleven thousand, one hundred and sixty second (11,162nd) car to roll off the ST205 production line in Japan, His was 2,240th to come out in the Japan being that his vin plate will say ST205-0002240. Japan had 2500 WRC models and as a general rule of thumb, 99% of them were created first before the regular ST205 production run began. There are a few odd WRC models with frame numbers higher than ST205-0002500 but only a handful. So you can generally say that his is the 2,240th WRC even though that number may be slightly higher than what it actually is, but it is definitely the 2,240th ST205 created in Japan. -------------------- Mike W

Thanks for the warm welcomes guys! Wow, I had no idea that the kit was a TRD one. Slick.
For those that are confused, I'm originally from Texas, but I've been living in Canada (Vancouver and Calgary) since 2002. Yeah, to find the production number, I just looked at the stamp on the firewall, behind the charge cooler. ST205-0002240 was the number. This seems like a good forum. I'm pretty stoked to learn more about this car. Thanks guys, Nick |
