Why stop with just engines? I mean how many cars out there have a ford 9" rear end? does that mean that the chevys and dodges that have them arent really chevys or dodges? and what about the people who use a dodge neon strut tower brace in our celicas? and rx7 injectors?

Seriously though, that is some pretty impressive work.
That reminds me of a certain '69 Camaro that I need to get working on with my Dad.

That's nice as heck. Even though it might sound like a "bad" idea to put a Honda engine in a Toyota, it's a pretty ignorant and close-minded way of thinking. Honda engines are great pieces of engineering. smile.gif

That's a stupid logic IMHO. The car is still a Celica. The engine doesn't determine the model of the car. It's the body of the car itself. The engine just moves the car. What a ridiculous post. laugh.gif

OOBE, dude. engines are the heart and soul of a car. you cant put a 3sgte in a Fox body Mustang and have it run like the 5.0 did. it completely changes the car.

you could argue that putting a 3sgte in an ST or GT completely change the car too.

Really its that ridiculous? 1. I wasn't being all that serious.. just expressing my hate for vtec. 2. Since you wanna make my post serious, I didn't know Celica's are known for Vtec power. 3 Its stupid logic to you because you don't understand where I'm coming from. If you wanna get all technical, the car is a honda celica. Yes.. this is a very ridculous post.. smh

There are Toyota celica models with a 3sgte engine.

I think a lot of you are semi-retarded.

Valve timing is used by almost every auto manufacturer on one form or another... if you dislike VTEC it's just because it's from Honda.

And I think you're a complete idiot. You try your best to determine the reason why I hate honda VTEC, and you're not even close. Ive driven the ones used in civics, and I just didnt like the feel. Just because someone likes torque it doesnt mean they know nothing about VTEC. Yea its good for smaller engines as it uses 2 cams (DOHC VTEC) with variable valve timing.. but for people that like bigger engines (like me) VTEC is not something I would like.. because those engines dont provide high torque.. unless you mod it like crazy. I think some honda vtec cars cant rev past 6k rpm.. but what do I know.. Ive never driven a vtec car.. im just a toyota fan boy..

A$$.

VTEC is used in the Honda Ridgeline. 247 ft-lbs of torque, 250hp. Granted its only a V6, but torque can be produced using VTEC. The Ford Tritan uses variable timing and it produces 365 ft-lbs and 310hp. That's a 5.4L V8. So separate the thinking between the lack of torque and VTEC or VVT in general.

You can't just say VTEC would be horrible in my V8, because it's used differently.
