Castrolman; Thanks! and yeah I know the rads dead, Im goin to buy new one before summer hits.. Thinking about ordering it from camskill.
Stambo; those OZ´s are now on my car, and theyll remain as my winter rims! Promasta; I have to check the stocks.. Toyo proxes should be grippy, and I dont mind doing massive 4WD slides at all! -------------------- |

very nice, great size/offset too.
so what tire size are you going with? soon I will be getting 235/40/17s for my 17x8 +32s. low and wide om nom nom. but as you said you have awd, you don't really need the traction. |

Im not that into putting too wide tires, all the wear and tear to joints and axles.. -------------------- |

holy crap, thanks promasta, Im going to get the 215´s. I assumed they would have been more stretched, I must have calculated wrong.. But thanks!
And now to the tires.. I have three options, the costs are in 50$ radius for the whole set. If some one has great experiences of these, please tell! -Toyo Proxes 4 (or T1R) -Falken FK-452 -Kumho Ecsta MX KU15 I had Falkens on my old Celi, and it felt ok. I have driven a GT4 with Toyos, but never was able to really test them.. And the Kumhos are purely a wild card. This post has been edited by Penkka: Feb 24, 2010 - 10:07 PM -------------------- |

I use Toyo T1R,s on my 4 mate,good tyres,out the ones you've listed it's the only one I'd recommend
215 is too narrow & can looked stretched(I've had a set on my 4 & hated) depending on manufacturer,I run 235 but a lot of other owners I know use 225/45/17 maybe a good compromise I wouldn't change my 235,s for any other size tho. This post has been edited by Castrolman: Feb 25, 2010 - 2:26 PM |

I hope its not going to be a rainy summer, as then the tires would be almost the same..

Awesome wheels! Thanks Luke! Im starting to lean towards the Kumhos, as they are the most expensive ones.. Original price that is. I also heard good things about kumho from a friend of mine.. well, we´ll see, not in a hurry exactly -------------------- |

The speedo difference is minimal mate,I wouldn't let that be a deciding factor in you choice.

i wouldn't go with kumhos simply because they are made in south korea or china.
falkens and toyos are made in japan and they are cheaper. I am also trying to decide between T1R and FK452. If you google T1R vs. FK452 there are tons of comparisons. Most people who have used both like the FK452s better. They can last over 30,000 miles, very quiet, sidewall is medium stiffness so launching is ok but so is cornering. T1R is nicer looking though. Either one will look more stretched than mine because my Azenis's run wide for their size (7.6" tread width for FK452s vs. 8.0" tread width for Azenis's). |

Yeah I heard of Kumhos being done in 10,000 miles with few track-days, and that kinda scared me.. Falkens treadwear is the best of these three I guess.. -------------------- |

No use having plenty of tread left on your tyres if your cars upside down in a ditch, pick the ones that are going to keep you on the road the best, it maybe they wear out quicker but that's usually because there giving you better traction, 300 bhp & bad tyre choice is only gonna cause problems ive done it myself mate, when I bought my car it had brand new Federals on it,they were lethal so I binned them with 6mm tread, next I had Falkens they were ok but could let go a bit suddenly which wasn't ideal,I did keep them till they wore out tho, next I had Toyo T1s which I loved such an improvement, honestly made the car feel so much better & at the moment I've got Toyo T1r on, definately the best mid range price tyre I've had, wear rate probably isn't the best tho but that's a price I'm willing to pay for the grip.
If you've got time try & get as many opinions as you can before buying as tyre choice really affects the driving of a 4. |

feck this shait.
I was partying with friends, and left the celica at my friends yard. When I went to pick it up the next day, they had done a prank, there was 3 feet of snow on top of the car, from front to back. I laughed, got the snow off and came home.. But feck. Thanks to this prank, now theres a dent on my F/L fender and scratches on the roof, hood and the oter fender.. I did have a flawless GT4.. -------------------- |
