Okay so here's another noobish question out of me - I'm going to have to add a disclaimer to my signature or something.
Understand firstoff that I know nothing about offsets, bolt patterns, etc. etc. except I know how to read tire sizes and I know how to take off and put on a tire. I'm fully planning on getting a set of HP Lite Ochos, but I don't know if I should go with the 8 hole or 10 hole pattern to fit our cars. I have a set of 16" Primax rims that I believe are 10 hole and they fit fine, but I don't know what size they are...16xsomething, I'm assuming 7 since the tire size on them is 215/50ZR16 (Falken Ziex 912s ![]() Basically, any advice on which to get (8/10 hole) and most importantly, will they fit? -------------------- ![]() |

You need 10 hole 5x100 . 8 hole is 4 lug cars. -------------------- |

You need 10 hole 5x100 . 8 hole is 4 lug cars. X2 8 hole means the wheels are 4-lug universal. will fit a 4x100 and a 4x114.3 bolt patterns 10 hole means it's 5-lug universal. will fit a 5x100(our gen's bolt pattern) or 5x114.3 as for offsets. anything 35+ is a sunken battle ship ![]() |

Thanks for the help, both of you - and as I stated, +35 offset means nothing to me - is that the space of the rim from the brake assembly, or what is it? I don't understand.
5x100 bolt pattern, if I've done my research correctly, means 5 bolts in a circle spaced 100mm apart, correct? -------------------- ![]() |

Well offset if I remember correctly, is the distance of the wheels' mounting surface from the wheels' center line. So the more offset the more the mounting surface is pushed outward of the wheel. The less offset the more the mounting surface is pushed inside, thus making the wheel stick outward when mounted onto the car.
