being able to adjust it also allows you to be put reverse torque on it... on a solid piece... once its installed there will still be a small amount of play between the bars and the bolts and the mounting location... this makes it easier to install (otherwise you would be trying to install a bolt that was just "a little bit off the hole")... when you have an adjustment.. you can fit the piece and then expand it til its actually creating pressure on the bolts BEFORE the tension (rocking of the car) creates the pressure... in high performance this is a great attribute over non adjustable... everyday driving will really not notice any difference though... but some of us do have 6gcs that are not everyday drivers only thing is... the over piece you removed this idea from... it shouldn't be too bad because if installed correctly you have pressure coming from the weight of the car when you pull your jack but adjustable would be better....

Hi pitfighter. I didnt quite understand what you meant about this bit sorry. Other notes. The adjustable rods have counter locking nuts which stops it from moving after. We aim to fabricate products for track users mainly where performance is more important then syling and our main target audience in the UK are mostly Toyota Sprint Series racers which are featured in Bansai magazines every month. Most people would settle for a regulare 2 point strut brace which does help for road use and for looks but once on track your car does go through alot of structule strain. The 6G isn't actually as rigid as what most people think. If you are a track user, wanting to win you must always thinka about safety, strength, weight and performance. The current prototype currently weighs 3.5kg. The final produc was redesigned to be stronger then the prototype and lighter at an estimated weight of 3kg or less. |

just a comment that adjustable strut to strut would be better, but it is not as much of an impact as the adjustable strut to firewall...

just a comment that adjustable strut to strut would be better, but it is not as much of an impact as the adjustable strut to firewall... I see I understand now. We have thought about that too. At the moment the only strut to strut available for the 6G is the C One 2 point with the adjstable mid bar to extend and shorten the middle rod. However it was not made to fit the GT4 because it was basically too weak like a branch twig. The problem we found with this was: a) Under extreme cornering the load is way too much for the middle rod and quite often when set to hard the threads very quickly wear and is not sustainable. b) By extending and shortening the strut to strut can actually warp the frame and change the camber of the wheels in the long run. c) Very easy to install incorrectly causing A+B problems so rather then making a complicated accessory work, simply use a solid fixed corrected length. You can have the wheels aligned before strut fitment and not change camber after fitting or you can have alignment made after fitting. Both works without any worries. |

updates? First batch was all sold out to some private buyers and foreigh retailers based on pre-pay. They're arriveing this or next week then to be dispatched. If there are (and that's a BIG IF) there are some spare, we'll post some up on ebay so keep an eye out. Not going to show you the final pics but here's a look at the development. Also we've started development into a matching rear 3 point brace. Here's the template. This is just the template. In no way does a standard 1 inch steel rod can be strong enough for a serious track user. The actual products will be similar to the front 3 point with a lot of GIRTH. |
