Wow. Do you mean this?

Is there a light or is there or just not, because I drove home all the way in 2. so I just need to [know] that it's a fuse or something else.

Answer: There is a light. Is yours off all the time? I have a similar problem, but it seems like a loose connection or a short, because it comes on and off randomly, sometimes after I hit a rough bump in the road. I'll pull my center console part off to check it out.

How could you not know that you were in 2nd gear?

I've never seen the [D] light work on any Toyota but every other light should work? is your [2] light out aswell? Do you mean on the dashboard or on the base of the gear lever? From what I can remember those selection lights on the dashboard are tricky to get to, you will have to unscrew that section and carefully desolder the 3mm LEDs out of it.

can't see where you're from. but in my st204 (usdm gt) the light was by the shift handle in the center console. and not too difficult to replace. i did a mini howto on it a few years ago.

if the lights are in your dashboard then i have no idea.

edit: found it
