Hey Guys
My bumper is cracked in two places. I was wondering if anyone can explain to me how to fix these cracks? Thanks |

How severe is the crack? Try using bondo.

The crack is pretty bad. Its split for a little over an inch. Would bondo hold that together? or do you need fiberglass?
If fiberglass, how do you do that? i worked with bondo before but not fiberglass. |

I went buy the bondo bumper repair kit today for my front bumper. It has a crack bigger than an inch, I will try it tomorrow and see how it goes.

pics!
fiberglass WILL NOT STICK TO POLYURETHANE. POLYURETHANE = stock bumper material now lucky for you; you have me i know how to make FG stick to poly. otherwise, i wouldn't own a bumper right now. (ancient JDM secret) so now show those pics, and i'll get promptly onto explanations on how to repair (complete with pics) -------------------- QUOTE (presure2 @ Nov 6, 2010 - 6:16 AM) Via FB: fcuking awsome!!! Somehow I must have the secret too. I've had a fiberglass patch on the bottom edge of my bumper for four years now. Shhhhhh..... we cannot discuss such things outloud. Our powers are reserved to maintain the harmony of the universe; if such powerful information was to fall into the wrong hands it would lead to disaster. It would destroy the planet!! like dividing by zero... I do it all the time, but i dont recommend doing it unless you know what you're doing. -------------------- QUOTE (presure2 @ Nov 6, 2010 - 6:16 AM) Via FB: fcuking awsome!!! D-man FTW! not at all. your bondo (body-filler) job looks just fine!
fiberglass is just a harder / more permanent solution; less likely to recrack/split down the road. in the end, it all achieves the same goal though. Hell, i've seen people use duct-tape (if you did that; then i'd give you a hard time ; these are celica's, not chevys) -------------------- QUOTE (presure2 @ Nov 6, 2010 - 6:16 AM) Via FB: fcuking awsome!!!
