Hi,
i was just wandering how much miles does 20 litres last you?

Gen 6 celica 2.0L GT

and is the weather affecting your mpg>?

I used to get 130ish miles with 20litres now i get only 100 miles with 20 litres?

What is the normal mpg like for celica users?
Also what is the best engine oil to use?

Regards

so you used to get 24.6 mpg but now you're getting 18.9 mpg... that's pretty bad, you should get your engine checked.

-cylinder compression test (normal pressure is 178 psi, minimum pressure is 142 psi, and max. variation btwn cylinders is 14 psi)
-replace O2 sensor (more likely the culprit if the compression test passes)

i'm getting 23.9 mpg (city) right now, but would get about 20.8-21.7 in the winter.

outside temps between -20 to +40 celsius (can't remember what the exact range is), toyota recommends using 10w-30. in the winter, i run 5w-30.

well tbh ive only had the car since September (last year) and my brother had the car for 3-4 years but says he forgot how much he used to do.

Therefore i have only really had the cold seasons and have yet to see the mpg on normal weather.

maybe thats why our mileages are different?

it's not so much that your fuel efficiency is different from mine, but it's more like the difference of my summer and winter efficiencies compared to your mileage. the weather here goes from an average of about 80 deg in the summer to -8 deg in the winter and the difference in my mileage is about 3 (in the winter, it includes 5 mins of warming up each start up, driving through snow, slower traffic due to slippery conditions, etc.), but yours is about 5.7 mpg difference which is more than the weather alone affecting this change in fuel efficiency.

if the car doesn't feel like it lost power (since when you were getting 24.6 mpg), then more likely you compression is still ok and that your o2 sensor is not reading correctly and constantly dumping extra unnecessary fuel even at normal operating temps. but that's just my guess...
