So, i was driving home from school on monday and all of a sudden, blue/grey smoke started coming from underneath my hood and exhaust. I pull over, and pop the hood. I start the car up again(it has a lil trouble starting) and it seemed like oil was be shot everywhere, i couldnt get a pinpoint location but it almost looked like it was coming from that little breather filter thats on the valve cover...oil was everywhere. The engine also had a violent shake to it.
When i got it to my dads, hes been a mechanic for 30+ years, no oil was in it. We pulled the plugs and the plugs from cylinders 3 and 2 were covered in oil, 1 and 4 were fine...i did a compression test and 3 and 2 had 0 compression....

WHAT DOES THAT MEAN?! WHAT WENT WRONG?!

I put a 1g dsm blowoffvalve on it on saturday, i apparently had it hooked up to the wrong vacuum line(the guy had the wrong line set up)...? Could that have been the cause?

Im still wondering what could have happened...piston rings went? blew a gasket?
Oil was being pulled through the turbo as well..a small small amount, turbo is still fine.

How did oil get sucked into those two cylinders?
How can i get it out? Is the motor done?
GIVE ME YOUR HELPFUL WORDS!!!!!

The guy who i bought it from on this site treated this thing very badly...he told me nothing and dindt say he was the 3rd or 4th owner
I had to replace the starter and clutch after a week of owning it

bumpppppp
help asap!

Sounds like no. 2 and 3 piston rings just went on you, you will need a new/used motor btw your dads a mechanic and he doesn't know what went wrong ??.....

How did oil get sucked into those two cylinders?
Oil got into the cylinder because you blew the rings

How can i get it out? Is the motor done?
The engine is pretty much done.

What are your engine specs anyways 5sfte ?

If you blew the rings and had no oil in it then you're going to need to have the block honed at the very least. New pistons and rings.

Are you ****ting me? I treated it badly? UMMM i had it for more a little more than 6 months, fixing up issues from the previous owner and never beat on it at all because i only drive local. Then you and your "mechanic" father calls me 2 weeks after picking up the car and successfully driving a good 1 1/2 hours to your place in long island telling me I sold you a bad car?!?! - you and your father inspected the car, test drove it (stalled it a few times, then beat/raced the car up and down a busy crowded street - explains why the clutch went..probably glazed it by driving like a nut and riding clutch), and even said it was running great!! only issue was the cracking sounds from the axles along with the need for a BOV!! Do not blame your noob driving and poor sense of judgment with a turbo car on me. You and your father should really be ashamed of yourselves for calling me early in the morning threatening to sue and harm me because you can not maintain and drive properly with a turbo car on the streets.. the celica was in great running condition when i sold it to you.. be a man and just admit you got caught up in the moment when you went into boost, did not bother to read your boost gauge properly and overboosted it, which resulted in your pistons to blow - it happens all the time with inexperienced drivers. I am sorry you could not enjoy the car as you wished, but do not blame it on me.

oh and trying to sell a possibly blown turbo for 600 bucks? good luck with that.. fyi, i got that turbo for 1/3 that price and it was in good condition, with little shaft play.

and , my stage 2 clutch just fell apart out of no where a few days ago, and i dont even know what i have on it now but it constantly slips and cant even take the car past like, 3200rpms it sucks

isnt it most of the cars bought private owners are Sold As Is No Warranty or Whatsoever and its the sole responsibility of the buyer to make sure that the Used item that he bought is in good condition?

Believe me, the car was in great running condition because i made sure it was that way when i sold it to avoid situations such as this.. the worse part is, it was his father who called to threaten to sue me as well as threaten me in other ways..

i believe he is 18.. i mean he was cool and all, but kid has a lot to learn.. you cant blame everything on someone else - it is so obvious that it was his own wrong-doing..

As soon as the paperwork has been signed, it is no longer your responsibility. No warranty expressed or implied. Tell them to take their baseless lawsuit and shove it.

this is why when I buy or sell a car both parties sign a legally binding agreement that there is NO explicit or implied warranty on the vehicle and its being sold as is the current condition on the date the paper is signed. both parties have a copy and if you're worried then have it notarized. while not the be all and end all to a situation like this it does relieve you 99% of any problems like this later on. if they contact you any further tell them ONLY the following...

Sir if you contact me personally any further on this matter I will have to file harassment charges against you with your local police, if you have any further issues with me you'll have to contact me through my lawyer. This discussion is over.

yeah, they havnt contacted me lately - i am pretty sure they know they can not take legal actions (it is just common sense)! I was very close to filing harassment charges on the father for what he was saying and in the violent matter in which he was saying it.. all i know is that when that car was sold to him, it ran great (finally) and whatever he did within those 2 weeks is not my damn responsibility..

Bumping three times in the space of half an hour is quite possibly one of the quickest ways to guarantee people would not want to help you.
