FINALLY got my block sent to the machinist, because the arp rod bolts came in.So now they can clean up the block and press in my rod bolts.
So in the mean time this is what I had to do to the 3sge intake manifold to fit the 3sgte throttle body. What it should look like What it looks like half way done BTW this is for the iacv And some injury pics. I low sided my bike the other day going about 20 around a corner with "cold" tires. upper body was fine, thank god for jackets and gloves. The bike is fine just some scratches. -------------------- 98 Celica gt red- totaled deer

Got my bearings in.
got them from raceeng.com. And can I tell you price is good and shipping was very fast. I will be plastigauging everything when I get my block back from the machinist. This post has been edited by bccentaur3: Sep 22, 2009 - 6:10 PM -------------------- 98 Celica gt red- totaled deer

Plasti-gauge? really? Not knocking your methods, but a dial indicator is sooo much more precise! Thats what I used on both my engines, your really able to be exact on your clearances. Harbor Freight has some VERY reasonably priced too! -------------------- www.tweakdperformance.com contact@tweakdperformance.com |

Well, it has just been a waiting game. I plastigauged the motor with the new bearings I bought and found that I needed oversized bearings for my main bearings. So after another week I was able to button the motor up.
After putting the motor in the car, I realized I needed an oil filter relocation kit. The oil filter won't clear the 3" dp. So I went out and found someone locally selling a kit for his sons 5sfte setup. Heres a pic of the motor assembled minus the oil filter relocation kit. Since then I have put the motor in the car and have her running. I am idling a bit high, thinking it maybe the isc resistor in the ecu. It could be a vacuum leak though, since the gasket kit came with 2 throttle body gaskets for some reason. Or it could be the notching I did on my intake manifold to throttle body for the ISC. I didn't make it big enough. If that were the case, I can live with a 1000 rpm idle. I'll take more pics of the motor in the bay. Oh so far I have 2 miles on her. and btw the valve cover is super scuffed up now after having to pull the motor 2 more times after original install due to some issues with the transmission. And cams not lined up properly, stupid 3sge cams. They don't have a notch to line up with the cam cap near the cam gear. -------------------- 98 Celica gt red- totaled deer

I swapped back to the st165 gte cams. I was using the st162 GE cams, but I couldn't get it to align properly to actually have the timing down right. Once I swapped to the GTE cams it idled a lot better.
I'm getting this crazy squeel from the timing belt. I ordered a new tensioner and idler pulley, so hopefully it fixes that, because I inspected the car a bit more today and remembered I had my car idling, and out of no where it shut off. Well checked the mechanical timing and it looks like it jumped a tooth. Funny thing is I was able to start it right up. Plus I was able to slide the belt off the tensioner without force. -------------------- 98 Celica gt red- totaled deer

No real update. I have a little over 2500 miles on the build now. found out the turbine seal is leaking and I also have a leaky injector on cylinder 3. Got the 5sgte to run on the honda ecu conversion, but the ignition timing is way too retarded by around 25*. So its currently still running on the 3sgte ecu and ignition components.

yes sir.
List of parts obdI honda ecu preferably p28 d16 honda distributor d16 distributor cap with the capabilities to run external coil (stock toyota coil) Key made to fit onto honda distributor and into the toyota cam jumper harness made for the stock toyota harness to ecu harnesses made for quick connects for the honda distributor to the stock toyota dizzy plug and to the stock toyota ignitor. honda ecu chipped. I think my map sensor that I had made took a crap on me, thats why timing was way off. But will never be able to get the car up and running solid on honda chrome, because she caught on fire and is very totaled. -------------------- 98 Celica gt red- totaled deer
