So I own a white 98 celica ft and I am wanting to do something different to it. In my opinion I think my white celica would look really good with black rims, but im not wanting to spend $600+ on rims, so im thinking painting my stock rims black and throwing on a really high gloss clear coat on them. Would this work and has anybody done this? Thanks

I just recently did mine. They are holding up nicely, and still look great.

First page and a half is the process. Write up with supplies, and process on last page. Can't miss it, its huge.

Have fun, hope you have strong forearms.

I dont ahve stock rims, but I got rims that were "shiny" lol, and hated the way they looked, so I grabbed a can of flat black paint, and painted all my rims.
heres a pics, they turned out great, and haven't chipped at all

Yeah, I painted my rims too. Don't use Duplicolor paint unless you throw some serious clear coat on that because mine are chipping like crazy. (I didn't prep as well as I should have though.)

make sure u sand them down very well, esp if they are a lil rusty and pitted like mine were. my rims on my 95 were a lil funky lookin but i cleaned them up and painted the silver and black. i get lots of compliments on them and r shocked when i tell them they r stock.
