would a generic short RAM intake cause a car to stall at stop signs or intersections due to the hot air being sucked in by the filter? I live in Northern California where we experience summer heat up into the triple digits and I would not want my celi stalling constantly because of the SRI. Also, would my MPG improve?

I have an injen SRI (not exactly what you might have) and I live in good ol texas. We pretty much have our share of triple digits every summer and I have never experienced any adverse reaction.

I had the Ebay SRI on my car for a long time. Although I'm sure you guys get it hotter, we regularly hit triple digits here PLUS humidity. I never had any issues at all. MPG will not improve. You will see it go down, actually, because you'll be flooring it more often just to hear the intake.

Lol humidity sucks. Guys in the Southwest complain about 100 degree temps.. Anybody from any state that sees anything past 80 with humidity can tell you that it's worse.

...so if I don't floor it often... will my MPG still be the same as with the stock intake?

your engine wont stall at stop signs or anywhere due to the heat, but you will loose a few bhp (2-5) due to alot of hot air is going in instead of colder air. I live in Bangladesh which is beside India and the temps goes to 41 Digree with Humidity around 80% !! There for in these conditions cars do not STALL or anything, but the power goes down a bit !! But do check your radiator water level and try to park your car in shades tongue.gif

Also, would I need to disconnect the battery cables in order to reset the Mass Air Flow (MAF) Sensor?

I really don't think it's necessary to pull any fuses or disconnect the battery cable. It'll help reset the ECU and help it learn the intake faster, but all I had to do was start the car up and shut it off a few times and the CEL went away and never came back.
