note to anyone who wants to try and use a 5th gen trans, it won't work. It simply wont fit with the engine in the engine bay.

thanks fate, good luck with your swap too!

Anyone have any opinions on what to do for the lower radiator house set up? I was gonna rig something up but just wasn't sure

Also anyone have any ideas on what i could do for flaring the intercooler piping?

I am working on the intercooler piping atm, this is the way i'd like to run it. Although i'm not to sure about the charged side of the piping running over the down pipe.

The intercoolers on, can barely even tell its there.

i would reverse it.
the air going thru the hot side of the piping is just that, hot.
the radient heat from the exhuast manifold isnt really gonna heat it up much more.
the cold pipe on the other hand you want to keep as far from the exhaust/dp as possible to avoid heating the intake charge post intercooler.

smile.gif lookin good man!

edit: if you have an ST radiator, you'll need to rig up a deal for the lower hose. no real way around it. (other than a GT or '4 radiator.)

Thanks guys, manny i got the intercooler piping rerouted pretty good, i'll get some pictures up when its welded up.

Today i ordered water temp, oil press. and electric boost gauge, and my bov http://www.nipponpower.com/product.phtml?p=1057

I havn't heard anything bad about those bov's and no compressor surge!

Eta is next weekend to get it running, if tweak sends the harness out this weekend.

dude, this is comming along really nice...congratulations...just keep taking your time and banging away at it...it will get done.

maybe i missed it, but where are you having the wireing harness done? and how did you go about drilling the hole in the frame for the pass. side motor mount? did you use thread rod or some other method?

that intercooler looks sick BTW

i ended up using about a 6" long bolt with the threads starting at 4.5" to the rest of the length of the bolt.

Tweak is doing the harness, i couldn't figure it out cause the guy who had the engine before me tried to make the engine run on only 2 ecu plugs and had a bunch of stuff cut, and was using speaker wire. The harness should be here within the week.

I ended up getting a New gt radiator from carquest for $90 so i didn't have to end up rigging the lower radiator hose up. All thats left to do is get my bov welded on and get a few pieces of the intercooler piping welded up also.

I'll have pictures of it sometime this week.

The 3s just might start up this weekend

So I decided i needed to flare my intercooler piping so the couplers wouldn't fly off. I Found this idea on a nissian forum somewhere on the web. All i did was weld a 2.5" exhaust clamp on one side of the vise grip, and welded a washer on the other. I grinded the wash down so it was round.

Final product smile.gif

Heres pictures of the intercooler piping and fmic all ready to go!

Not much of a sticker guy but i like this one for some reason
