Ive been really wanting something 4 door, like a v8 Audi, maybe an evo9 or evoX. I drive an Evo X on a weekly basis. While they handle awesome and feel very nimble for their weight, I'm just tired of them, lol. The Celica might be an old piece of junk but it just feels special. I love Audis. Such awesome interior, even if they're slow. -------------------- |

I test drove quite a few evo x's and its all about how you use them. They are not meant to be a daily driver and most people I know who own one of them has them as a fun weekend car with family car being a 4 door saloon like a nissan or something. Neither evo nor sti were meant to be driven in traffic.
Like top gear says... sti can get you to the track and evo can get you around it. -------------------- Captain Pessimist

As I hope to never get rid of my celi i suppose a decent replacement for it would be a 350Z or maybe a project 240. I would love to find a RHD skyline R34... but I don't see myself having the money to buy one!

is300's are very nice. If you wanna be a honda/nismo fag then do it elsewhere. Lex is a brand of toyota, and We'll not hear any badmouthing of toyotas here. Plus they're bagged, it's hella cool to hit Xmph and feel it drop to the ground for aerodynamical fuel economy. You know how many people on here own a Honda or Nissan? Don't be a jackass. I happen to love my 350z -------------------- |

I'm on my 4th 6gc, definitely won't get rid of the 99. I've had all kinds of different cars; Prelude, Mustang, WRX, SC300, Miata, and I keep coming back to the Celicas.
My plan is to drive my current car until the engine dies, then make it a project and pick up another DD. Next car will definitely be German, most likely an older BMW 3 series or M3. Something like this, car in a local car club I'm in: This post has been edited by blu94gt: May 18, 2010 - 12:08 AM -------------------- 1999 Celica GT

My cellie is currently my DD, it won't be forever. Nor will I rid of it.
When I have to purchase another DD, it will most likely be some sort of SUV. I enjoy the excuse of having the small cellie so work doesn't make me haul stuff on my dime, but it is a hassle to drive 30 mins to work to simply pick up a Blazer. Any specific one? Nah, aslong as it drives. My desire to work, or customize cars stops at the Celica, and only the 6th gen. |

I second that FT-86 suggestion, but only if it's not a Solara. Other than that...I really can't imagine letting go of my Celi anytime soon. Like OOBE said, it's my first car so I'm pretty attached to it (just ask Yuri or Samir). However, a replacement would probably have to be RWD, but same formula. Smaller engine, lightweight.

There was so much JDM trapped inside that box that they couldn't contain it, so they had to put a JDM hole in the box to let the JDM out. I was actually about to get either a 7th gen, Corolla S, or Civic EX when I was looking at other cars.
Test drove a Corolla S and get the joys of driving a 7th gen civic ex once in a while, niether compare to a celica. So glad I wound up getting my RSX is300's are very nice. 1. MRS with 2zz-ge swap
2. Altezza turboed Im never going back to another FF drivetrain after my celica. And I do agree the 7th gen does have a smaller interior space than the 6th gen, I test drove one before! Thirded on the FT-86 suggestion, but the Celica isn't my first car. Seconded on the RWD part. I'd love to have a brand new Corolla XRS (Not RWD, I know), a Mazda3 Hatch (Again, not RWD) (Preface, none of that smiley stuff) maybe a Genesis coupe. Would have to be standard though. I'd love to have 4 wheel drive...but I can't think of anything other than a WRX that would be something I want. And a WRX is out of my price range. Hopefully, I'll never have to get rid of my Celica lol -------------------- |

I had my 6gc for almost 3 years, and loved it when I had it. But I got a killer deal on a 98 Mustang GT so I sold my sixth gen. My life after 6gc consists of realizing what a slow slug stock 5sfe's are. My stang is also slow in comparison with most sporst cars, but the celi is a sloth. When I had the celica I thought it was fast though lol. I guess I just realized rwd owns fwd all day and my stang has been much more reliable than my celica ever was. I still lurk here on 6gc.net, because I truly did love my celica, it also saddens me how bad this site has gotten in terms of the owner only updating the home page a couple times a year. PS-flame away on my choice to get a non-import, im completely satisfied with my new post celica car!
