i cannot find a 3sgte map sensor anywhere and my turbo build is already spiraling wildly out of budget and i don't wanna fork out the cash for a new one. would the map sensor from a 7mgte equipped supra work? they're both 5v, but im not sure what boost the supra sensor goes up too.
cheers

You should be able to find out if they are compatible in the Repair manual, it should tell the specified voltages at vac and boost etc.

if you gonna turbo the 7a you are going to need a map sensor from an 90-93 all trac or a gen2 mr2

no good apparently. best info i can find says get one from a 3sgte, so in agreement with Johnnyny. should be able to get one out of a breaking car quite easily i guess. check its function before installing obviously smile.gif.

johnnyny, are you sure it has to be that 3sgte revision, or could it be the map sensor from a 94-99 all trac?
damn boost is difficult. im about £500 in, and so far to go.

IMO i would stick with the 2nd gen (90-93) map sensor.
the 3rd gen has a higher fuel cut, so the voltage curve is diffrent than the 2nd gen, which will make the car leaner, and the resolution off boost worse, which makes tuning the off boost harder.
as a side note, ill have a 2nd gen map sensor FS here later today. smile.gif

hokey kokey. shouldn't be too hard to find one. thanks presure2. my setup should be pretty reliable when i'm done, don't wanna skimp out on teh map sensor. correct me if i'm wrong, but the map sensor for the 7afe and the 3gste has the same output range, but the 3sgte sensor puts out half the voltage for a given absolute pressure right as its 2 bar not 1 right? i'm pretty serious about the fueling, i got supra injectors, and greddy emanage with all the harnesses, anything i've missed?
thank's for the offer, but i'm in the UK and it won't be worth the shipping.

the supra injectors are only good for stock boost on a ct-26 based setup.
once you turn up the boost at all, you'll run out of injector.

im only gonna be running 6-8 psi, on a 7afe not a 5sfe. about 170/180 hp, those injectors are good for about 220hp

yea but they will be wide open at anything over 175-180whp.
i was super SUPER lean on the dyno @ 195whp (like, blow up your motor if you continue to drive it like that lean)
330cc, or 360s would be ideal IMO.

thanks for you concern dude smile.gif, but my tuner didn't seem bothered when i told him, and the man's a tuning wizard, like properly good.
tbf, for me its probably good to have a limiting factor about there, otherwise i will just keep trying to boost more till i **** my internals. when i've saved enough for forged internals I shall buy 550cc and just go nuts with the boost. till then, having to stay in the limits of my injectors will keep me from raping my motor haha biggrin.gif.

exellent.
thats the key to any factory n/a car that you add a turbo to, tuning.
good luck!
