Not a lot. The 5.0's really could have been making a lot more power. RWD is fun and all, but seriously, some guy is not going to give up his Mustang in allegedly perfect condition for a Celica unless he knows he's getting a good deal. I'd say there's a story behind that Mustang, and I'd advise you to stay away.

LOL Just keep your Celica.. 5.0 even in the original foxbody (the lighter chassis) wasn't that fast of a car. People even nick name them 5.slow for a reason.

A buddy of mine traded his 93 celica gt for a 5.0 mustang. He regrets it. Now we all make fun of him.

Don't be "that" guy.

^ Get proof of dyno sheets and check the installed mods and you might have yourself a little of a deal if that's all in order.

But like JD said, it's a Mustang. You have a Celica. Nobody on this site should have any doubts as to which you should take, EVEN if it's FWD over RWD.

Not even close to 100 Horsepower per liter, gonna take A LOT to get there...embarassing.

Not like our Celicas are close to 100 hp per liter... unless you have a 3SGTE.

Anyway, I just drove my friends 1996 Mustang GT. It's the one with the 4.6. Personally I liked it but it felt completely different from the Celica. It feels like it wouldn't handle nearly as well. But it is also nice to have the power right there that my Celica doesn't have. If I were to go with a GT, I would get a 4.6. I just like that engine better, especially the way it sounds. In the end though, I look at you making the choice like looking at someone making a mod. If you like it, do it. It's your decision and you are the one that has to live with it.

our celicas? I can tell you that my other celica makes DAMN near 100hp per liter and this one will make damn WELL OVER 100 hp per liter in about a month. Also, the third car in my garage, same story, and ALL of them get better than 25 MPG. I guess I just dont understand what's so great about a way underpowered V8 with horrible gas mileage.

Torque. V8's have it. Celicas don't.

I have respect for a solid v8, but a 5 liter (4.9 in reality) that is "pretty built" with cams that makes 325 power is way too excessive and inefficient for me. Not like the stang makes up for it with handling or looks..

I stand firmly by my "There's something wrong with it" statement. I'm not concerned with the looks or the power. If the guy wants to trade straight up for your Celica, there's something he isn't telling you.

x2. Still wouldn't own one, but I appreciate the advances they're making with it.
