Today wasn't a good day, I was on my way to work and the car in front of the car i was behind stopped suddenly to make a turn when there was on coming traffic and the guy in front of me stopped suddenly and pulled to the right and then there was me who was trying to avoid a manhole, since they raise them and are going to pave over them, and I didn't notice that the two cars in front of me were at a dead stop and me, I was still doing about 35 to 40 mph and was only about a hundred or so feet away. Any who, I slammed on the brakes (which didnt help because there was a dusting of sand on the road) and my car skidded and went under a jeep.

Here's the pic:

So from what I saw, I need a hood, bumper, crash bar, drivers side high & low beam, radiator & support, and some other odds and ends.
Air bags blew, but I'll just replace the steering wheel with a racing one for now and I'll just cut the other air bag out or just replace it.
The windshield I can get replaced for free since it is a part of my insurance. I think thats it right now, but I'll get some pics up tomorrow after I start pulling some stuff off.

Luckily there is a junk yard in town with a white celi there with some parts so I can get some off of that.
Don't ask for parts unless you want the broken stuff? cause I'm not parting out, I'm fixing her up.

Ouch! well at least nobody was seriously injured, aside from the poor celi that is. Looks like there may be driver side structural damage there, or is that just the angle of the shot?

I know how you feel. I hit an 18 wheeler's tire on Thursday and now I need a new front bumper, RH fender, sidemarkers, RH low beam, whole new suspension (strut is bent, I'm waiting on Megan coilovers, they've been on backorder), and a new wheel. Then of course paint for the bumper and fender. Let's make it a race to see who fixes up their Celica first! lol

I'm glad I wasn't hurt either. It's like the cars are against me cause this is my second accident. The first one happened in a snow storm and I lost control and hit a telephone pole and my Acura Legend was pretty much totaled. It really does suck. I'm hoping I can get it all done and rebuilt by the time I go back to school in September.

Btw, does anyone know how to remove a radiator support?
PM me if you have a step my step process with or without pics

nope, no insurance help cause I can't afford collision on it, and I dont want to go to them cause the accident was my fault, but I'm hoping the people in the car i hit dont charge anything cause their car was barely messed up, sorry, not car, jeep.

but it seems fixable, just need to find out how to get some things in and out of it.

That does look pretty easily fixable, looks just like my old 76 celi after I got it removed from under the rear bumper of a lumina van.

the hardest part i think will be getting another radiator support in there. other than that its just bolt off and bolt back on, then sand it down, throw some primer on it, and spray it black till i can afford an actual paint job. it's just like what happened to your car, but i went under a jeep cherokee

man, you can't even tell that's been in a wreck. just drive it like it is tongue.gif But seriously, good luck with rebuilding it. I'd rather see your celi back on the road than next to that white one in the JY

Looks like that car was in great shape before the accident... Glad to hear that you're okay and it's good to see you're rebuilding it. Insurance would undoubtedly consider that a total loss. Best of luck with everything!
