Ouch, that's just bad luck right there. Is there anyway you could record the noise. If it's speed dependant I'm leaning towards a bad wheel bearing.

It actually is. And for some reason When i turn the noise is gone. Then when i straighten the wheel there it is again. . .

Jack that side into the air and grab the wheel and wiggle it. If it has any play in it you'll need to replace that wheel bearing... But typically wheel bearings make a humming or squeaking. Is that axle still in the transmission? Did you pull on the joints in the axle at all?

I'm not really an asshole, but I play one on the internet.

If your axle is binding then it can knock/thud while driving in a straight line, this only occasionally happens, they usually click during powered turns as we all know.

Might also be your differential, they will "knock" if lash is badly out of spec or if there are broken teeth, cornering will change the load on the gears and the noise will change as well.

I've heard wheel bearings knock/thud, but they usually get really hot while driving if they are that bad, you might want to use an infrared thermometer to see if the hub is burning up. And do the wiggle test like 95 suggested.

Ill jack it up tomorrow and see if the wheel has play. My sister's bf said it sounds like the axle shaft, which im hoping because i was planning on changing it anyway.
