Hi everyone. Heres the story, I got a knocking from the o/s of the celi on the way home from japshow yesturday and after taking the wheel off i find grease splattered all over the place. the culprit is the CV boot of the drifshaft on the gearbox side. Going from the tick, tick tick noises it was making i have come to the conlusion that the drifshaft has broken (after the playful driving on the way home from japshow) and split the boot. I looked on ebay for st202 o/s driveshafts but was unlucky but there are a few GT4 driveshafts on there so i was wondering if anyone knew if the GT4 driveshaft could be used in a 1994 ST202 SS2? Cheers

Well, seeing as a GT-4 would assumedly run an E-153 (154?) and your SS-II runs a...S54? I'm going to say no.

Sounds like your CV boot is the only thing that broke, not the entire drive shaft, dont hold me to this but the same thing happened to me and all i had to do was replace the CV boot and grease and it was fine.

BTW you can get a OEM replacement at a local part store, i think its like 80$ non ABS and like 110 with ABS. I just replaced both of mine before my engine went to hell.

ah ok cheers. I know this may sound like a stupid question but how can you tell if it is abs or not? there is no light in the dash. I found a couple on ebay last nite, one guy offered me the whole driveshaft off his celi that hes breaking for £30! bargain

Well, I'm not sure how to tell non-ABS axles apart from ABS units, but...ABS-equipped Celis will have a box-shaped unit to the left of the engine, next to the fender and a foot or so from the radiator. Pretty sure it has a bunch of wires sticking out, etc. I know this is vague, let me find a picture.
