is there a easy way to get the foamy tape stuff off the sideskirts/rear caps?

i have bought some 2nd hand rear caps and the tape is still there any good ways of removing it and it is stucck on good tried peeling it off doesnt work to good even scraping with a knife didnt work that well as it just stretched

my cameras out of action at the moment looks like double sided tape but has a small layer of foam between the sticky bit used to keep the the things snug against the body

Here's a pic of my splitters which have the remains of tape on them aswell, I think this smiley is talking about.
Any suggestions? I might have to remove mine too if it effects the fitment.

an assortment of blades, sand paper, and elbow grease...it'll go away.

should peel off, if not , some heat, goo gone, finger nails. Shouldn't take too much to get that off.

Contrary to what some people say, hardened double-sided tape is NOT easy to remove. Trust me, last month I had to remove it from six pieces: front and rear splitters and side skirts. It was not easy, at all!!!
I ended up buying small diameter wire brush (cca 2inches) and with the help of cordless drill I managed to get it off (you just have to be very careful not to go too deep into the material of the splitter/skirt).
If it wasn't for this method, I'd be still scraping....

an electric handheld sander will get it off quickly and easily...

well my method worked for my lip. I guess it just depends on how bad the tape is. Hopefully the OP can get their tape off with whichever way works smile.gif
