This is not edited part of my ride down the Stelvio (footage is from bend #4 to bend #19, so 1/3 of whole Stelvio). I was driving within speed limits (that is why on straight stages you can realize I do not run full throttle all the time) however you can see it was not slow ride at all and it was on public road. That is why I respect if any moderator will close it because someone may have a feeling it is on the edge of forum rules.

Few bends from Stelvio...

note for SwissFerdi: I bet your ride down the hill with Paul was bit different smile.gif

Quite a lot different! Not because he has an ST, but because of the stupid traffic. This was the vid where you drove ahead of us right? And also...where's the vid of us driving back up, and the ones right before Stelvio? I'm super anxious to see those.

Thank you Manny and Luke smile.gif. I appreciate that...

I have already heard in the US you have mainly straight roads. No down hill and uphill, no bends. I can not imagine that.

You are right. Since we have been there twice I have footage from:

Stelvio (more funny side or let's say Italian side) - on snow up smile.gif
Stelvio (Italian side) - sunny day down (vid you have above)
Stelvio (Italian side) - sunny day up (vid with Fredi, are you sure you wanna share with that on public? smile.gif)
Stelvio (Swiss side) - on snow down smile.gif
Stelvio (Swiss side) - sunny day up

Not at all true. Just in some areas its not too great. The renowned "Tail of the Dragon" has 317 curves in an 11 mile span. It's quite twisty. Not a consistent drop in altitude though. In the western areas of the states, there are plenty of mountain roads that are fun to tackle. smile.gif Awesome footage though.

When I said that, I was talking about FL...not all of US. wink.gif

And I surely want to see the vid. But 6gc.net, be aware that most of the audio is me giggling like a little girl. You have been warned.

Oh Florida... now I understand why Homer Simpson said what he said about Florida wink.gif

btw.: here you have video clip I have made today. I have used just 25% of footage so I definitely make another (and definitely better wink.gif) later smile.gif http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=228zHZUhEtY

Mate,
i'm curious as I didn't think there was a Swiss side of the Stelvio!

Strada Statale 38, so the road that goes to and from the Pass, is all in Italy! wink.gif

Or were you referring to Umbrail Pass?

Yes in the google maps is that my "Swiss side" as Umbrail Pass.

This picture is from crossing that is 1km from Stelvio Pass

To the left you can ride that my "Swiss side" because I just have not found any sign with name of another pass there... (note: that road is very interesting because part of it on dirty road so you can feel like real rally driver smile.gif

This picture is view from that side (top is the Stelvio, houses bit lower is that crossing mentioned before)

...and this is part of the road it self:

Really recommended to ride it wink.gif
