Hello everyone,
so I was driving home the other night from work (30min) and once I was on my street I heard a screeching/buzzing sound, something like a belt rubbing. The more throttle I gave, the louder and faster the sound. I shut off the car and coasted to my house and found a stream of coolant drizzling off my oil pan and a line of coolant to where the sound began on the road. My guess is the water pump and I plan to strip it down tomorrow but would love some reassurance. Travis This post has been edited by 99Celica: Aug 14, 2010 - 8:54 PM |

its hard to say what it is by describing but the GT water pumps are notorious for going somewhere between 150-200k, mine did and so have many others I've heard. Mine made a consistent rattling noise from the belts area.
