I have a 95 Celica Convertible that is long due for a stereo upgrade. I have a new kenwood head unit and a kenwood 2 channel 350 watt Amp from my old car. My question is what type of speakers should I go with? I was thinking about 2 3-way speakers up front connected to the Amp and subs in the back? ....or subs up front connected to amp and midways in the back?

You could put a 3-way component system in the front and 1 sub in the back. You would have plenty of range with that set up. You could do a 2-way component setup in front and a mid for the back seat and a sub. I would recommend buying a 4 channel amp to power the components. Dont put 8" subs in the front. Lower frequencies have to travel longer distance for your ears to hear bass. Low frequency = long wavelength. High frequency = short wavelength. How much are you looking at spending? Well, I am not looking to spend too much. I have $200 for speakers. I have a 12 inch sub, but I really dont want to put it in - its too much bass and it really eats up my trunk space. I really like the boston acoustics component speakers, but they are a little outside my price range.

I know someone selling a pair of jbl P652s...I was thinking those up front and some mids in the back. They are also selling Infinity 4x6 462.5cfp Kappa series which should fit up front.

Subs in the back, yes, normal speakers up front yes, 350 watt amp no lol i have a 1500 watt amp for just one sub. and then i have 2 other 1000 watt amps powering my door speakers and 6x9's. It depends one what brand your looking for and what your budget is. I spent alot on audio bc its my thing, I love it. If your not into audio just get say 1 10" and some 6x9's not expensive and good sound depending on brand. My .02

Dont get 4x6 speakers. They dont sound good. You can fit 6 1/2 in the stock 6gc brackets all day. Easy install. I can post pics if you need. Round speakers produce better sound quality. A 6x9 will produce more spl, but less sql. Bostons are nice, but are over priced. I would get focal's before I purchased bostons. You could go with infinity reference REF6030CS if your on a budget and still want quality. Save up your cash if you want a nice system like Jumpin said. You get what you pay for most of the time. There is a lot of marketing in car audio, so do some research.
