H-ey guys got another 94 St.

-flashback-

Last year sometime I had 94 st with the 7a-fe. Had basic work done. Also had a spare engine and got the rebuild kit from importperformanceparts.com with the ridiculously priced pauter rods.

Then a week or so before I got the engine in the car i was t-boned in a intersection. Insurance wrecked her, no shape for rebuilding. So my hopes and dreams shattered.

-flash forward-

About two weeks ago got me another celica st with 80k for 1300 with a bad clutch. So I got a clutch, put it in a couple hours and back to rolling.

Last week, Just got done with installing and aligning her at my work with the new D2 coilovers (-1.5 " front, 1" rear drop) suspension techniques sway bars, and 10 spoke 17" motegi rims, smoke finish; and some eagle f1 all-season (215/45zr17).

So what do yea guys think should be the next thing up. Body kit or engine performance. I'm thinking 3sgte, instead of the 7afe build up. Whatcha all think

well first off welcome back smile.gif

And if you have the money I would very much so consider the 3sgte smile.gif. as we all know the 7a is a bit...well... slow as hell! lol

But exterior wise and everything else can be done pretty cheap if you do things ur self smile.gif and the options for celi's are incredible practically never ending biggrin.gif I did absolutely everything for my car my self saved alot! of money and learned alot with the help of everyone here.

But its all up to you, and your preference smile.gif GL with ur build

Yea so go with the performance aspect first. Gotcha

However im not gonna lie, with the new sway bars, tires/rims and coilovers, HOLY GOD, I've driven the new evolution and 370z and I have to say my girl now now keeps the inside on em all.
Anyone looking to do this set-up, I highly recommend it.

Only downsides- you feel every crack, pebble, bump, and frog (it was raining and warm, and damn thing felt like I drove off a cliff). The rear swaybar are bit of a behatch to install. ESP with rust exhaust. Lol. But the one main disadvantage is the lime green colored sway bar and the purple, yea purple coilovers. But someone may point and laugh, but i know damn well my car will stick to the ground more efficient than theirs. :-P

So back on to topic-ish, what is this I hear about the 3vzfe? I've missed some time here, and even more so when I hear of different engine for a 6 Gen. Is that the Camry's V6. And someone was able to successfully swap into a celica?

If so, that is truely A-M-A-Z-I-N-G. Must be a sweet little ride!

1MZFE, 3VZFE, 5VZFE, 2GRFE - All V6 motors that will fit into a Celica. They all fit in MR2s and we have less room to work with than you kids.

Wow I love all the new (to me) possibilities! However what's the big benefits of the V6 swap besides 2 extra cylinders. Like how much more difficult is it to due the 6 over the 3sgte? Any advice and goto areas to find out how.

I think the 3VZ only weighs like 20 pounds more than a 3S, but it's the smooth torque curve, equal stock power as a 3S (2nd gen), sexy v6 sound, and better gas mileage.

Swapping it in is pretty straightforward. If you can find a V6 5sp Camry Solara then you're set. You need the e153 trans (a Celica GT S54 trans will work as well) and you'll need to get GT motor and transmission mounts. Those will all bolt in, but you'll need to have a passenger side mount fabricated - no big deal. Then its just a matter of wiring and hooking everything up.

2GR is much more complicated - Drive by wire conversion, immobilizer, modern electronics, etc.

2GR though..... Drool.... 265whp stock. It would be awesome in a Celica.

Like price comparison, about the same as the 3sgte or more?

Cheap. They came in A LOT of Toyotas, so they're plentiful.

I think one of the MR2 guys did a 2GR for under 6,000.

Some other guys are doing 3MZ swaps for under 2,000.

Hmm. Sounds like I should consider the 3mz. Sounds cheaper than the 3sgte.

Plus I like smooth rides.
