Ok so I still have not yet decided on exactly how I want to do my setup on my hatch. So until I figure it out I have been working on this custom homemade hatch cover. I am pretty sure I am going to leave it like this for a while. I might go a little further into the set up, but I am pretty satisfied with the out come. Me personally, I like it alot, let me know what everybody thinks.

Also there will be a red neon light mounted under the custom cover to shine through the empty spaces. So yes it is not a perfect fitmit. But it is like that for a reason.

So you can still see your subs through the glass? Doesn't that kind of defeat the purpose of the cover?
And how do you get at stuff under the cover? its not attatched to the hatch like from factory?

lol sorry for all the questions, but it looks pretty good.

lol Its ok, I am going to be tinting the window though, So you wont be able to see the subs through the glass. Also when i bought the car it did not come with the hatch cover thing. So i am going to go to a junk yard and get the hinges and the straps that come on the stock cover. So in the end it too will lift with the hatch. But for now I just have to lift it by hand. Also the main reason I wanted to make this type of cover was so when I lift the hatch, (straps not hooked to the hatch) all you would see is what is in the picture. And the red neon shining through (after I install that of course). And you would not see everything else in the hatch. just the subs and the cover that says CELICA. I dont know if that makes sense to anybody, but it was fun making it, and it different. lol

i never thought something so simple could look so good. i like how the subs have their own opening through the cover. if i were to do something like that, my subs would disappear overnight.

Yea definately.
I've had my hatch cover out w few times, and even with 15% tint all around you cans till tell there are subs.
Plus my car would be the first one checked out by a theif in a parking lot, haha.
Def not a good idea here.
Looks good though man.

Thanks for the replies. Where I live though there really isn't a whole lot of stuff going on to where ppl brake into cars. Dont get me wrong it does happen. But around here the area is small and everybody talks too much. Plus everybody around here pretty much knows everybody else. My sisters boyfriend had a civic hatchback and some punk kids broke out the hatch window and tried to steal the subs. The subs was bolted to the car, so they failed at getting them. But the kids went around bragging about busting out windows and they was caught by the end of the week. lol stupid kids anyways. Also I was going to try and go a little darker on the window tint so it would be harder to see them. In my talon I had the windows was 2.5%, you could barely see anything even when you tried. So maybe I will go with something like that for the celica too. But thanks again for the replies, keep them coming good or bad.
