I remove spark plug in my jdm st205 engine recently import
it is hks s40i ... at heat range 8 ? before I remove hks plug I buy BKR6EP-8 at heat range of 6 why is best of use s40i? thanks -------------------- Celica GTS turbo 1994

I remove spark plug in my jdm st205 engine recently import it is hks s40i ... at heat range 8 ? before I remove hks plug I buy BKR6EP-8 at heat range of 6 why is best of use s40i? thanks not sure if i quite understand, but if youre wondering if its ok to use he replacement plug you got the answer is yes. stock 3sgte motors run a heat range 6 plug. HOWEVER you can go colder depending on your performance desires (to reduce the chance of detonation) imho a range 8 plug is a bit overkill unless there were some heavy mods done to the motor or the previous owner was running a lot of boost on it. im thinking if the previous owner was putting a cold plug like that in it, he was running the hell out of that motor or did some mods to it. if i were you i'd inspect the motor more. most of us use 7 range on here BKR7e Ngk but they changed the part number wished knew the new part number for ya! -------------------- |
