Well guys i leave monday for basic and wont have my celica back for about 8 months. It'll be sitting in the garage in pa where it gets decently cold. I already got fuel stabilizer what else should I do besides detail it and cover it?

How cold?Cold enough to freeze your "antifreeze" if its in bad condition? I had a friend go out for a year..come back and the coolant had frozen, expanded and cracked his block..If it gets really cold <20F i would just drain all the fluids just for peace of mind..

If you have someone you trust enough to start it every now and then, consider asking them to drive it around for a little bit too. Just to keep anything in the suspension from locking up. That's what I did when I went out to Iraq.

fill the gas tank. give it a really good wash and focus especially inside the wheel well lip and bottom of the doors before storing it. remove the battery and keep it indoors. the tires will deflate over 8 months so put the car on stands and bring the wheels indoors unless someone is going to watch it for you. if your coolant is mixed 50/50 with water, i'd change it with a mixture with more coolant than water. change your oil to 5w-30, it's better in cold temperature especially since the car will probably never warm up all the way. most of this really isn't necessary unless you're in Canada
