Looking to do a 3sgte swap on my 98 gt. Read a ton about how much of a pain the wiring is. I've been told about phoenix tuning (tweak'd) but I feel the price to get it done is nuts. I've also talked to jim and haven't heard much from him recenty. So can someone please tell me or point me to a thread explaining what has to be done the wiring

I think you'll find his $/hr is extremely reasonable. I generally spend 20-25 hrs on a harness, and it is pretty tedious. He's probably quicker than me though.

Essentially, the process is

-strip original harness
-strip new harness
-adapt engine control functions of new harness into original harness
-re-wrap harness to make it look brand new

It's just really tedious work, and can be overwhelming the first time.

LMAO.
the only reason you think its nuts is cause you dont know whats involved.
check out my swap thread.
if your smart enough, you can figure out exactly what needs to be done for a 3rd gen swap in there.
if not, send it to tweak, and quit your complaining. smile.gif

Save yourself the headache and just send it in, unless your electronic tec or an electrical engineer. You will never figure it out.

The GEN3 harness conversion is one of the cheaper conversions!!! If you get the harness sent in before the end of the year, there is also a SALE going on with special pricing!!

Whoa buddy! haha 20-25hrs, that's a long time for a wiring conversion. We can do a Gen3 harness in about 4 hours or so. But yes, I agree completely when you say its very TEDIOUS work!!
