Is it just the downpipe or have you connected the exhaust?

haha, Just a tad man. but it is still fun haha. I'm going to drive around my neighborhood a couple times to piss people off... I have SOOO many people who drive up and down the street really fast, loudly or some fashion of annoyance... so I'm going to have my little bit of fun.

this ST has black hard lines running up the pass side for the steering lines, can I just delete those and run hose from the hard line under the engine?

Soul

those are steering "cooler" lines.

you "can" remove them, not a huge deal, but i would leave them if you can.

I'm Stuck at a point... I can't find correct hose for the intercooler lines. 7/8th is a hard type to find I guess... Also, I have no wiring experience and i have to wire in a rely for the water pump...

The more I read on what to do, the more I become confused heh

ugh so I got the car down off of the jacks, started it up and car goes nowhere because of the transmission and clutch... I get 2 inches of play after bleeding it. and its not moving the the clutch to engage. then while checking the gears a little black plastic piece came off the peg on the 'up down' shifting bar...

Curse of the evil Canadian transmission....

if you have help tips please let me know...

kev, head down to your local pepboys or whatever, (harbor frieght if you have one near you) and buy a mighty vac.
before you start the bleeding process, pull the bleeder screw completely out, and thread tape the threads.
install the bleeder, tighten it enough so it dont leak.
*put the mighty vac on it, and pull ~ 25 vac on it. have your dad or someone press the clutch pedal 8-10 times quicky, and hold down the pedal on the last pump.
then loosen the bleeder while you continue to pump up the mighty vac, and have someone keep an eye on the fluid level.
close the bleeder before the resivour for the mighty vac is full, empty it, and repeat the bleeding process from the asterik down.
you should be able to watch the slave cylinder open and close as someone pushes the pedal after that.
i can usually get it working properly with only one cycle, but you may want to do it X2 like i said, just to be sure.
take a pic of what came off.

thanks manny, it still feels like 2" of play... maybe that's what it is meant to be.

but the real problem is, the car just wont go into gear... I can have my friend confirm that it was put on the engine before the trans was put on.

when I put it into reverse it sometimes grinds (probable from me moving it too fast) so I KNOW its going into the gear... so the power isn't getting to the axles I'm assuming...

any other pointers?

Kevin

maybe I have to adjust the cables or something like that? I mean like I said it IS going into reverse... so I don't think that could be it...

you need to fix the free play issue first, trans will not go into gear while the clutch in is contact with the flywheel, I had this same problem but my system was bleed properly so all I had to do was adjust the height of the pedal and I was able to drive the car perfectly.

make sure you bleed your system properly, and then adjust the pedal height and release point of the clutch, then you'll be able to shift properly.

okay... I think I Figured it out... it doesn't make sense to me but... I think the axles are wrong and that is causing the problems... so it comes down to the fact that I was told when i got it, that it was a 92 5SFE out of a Camry... so I ordered 92 celica GT axles... well I've been finding out that its most likely out of a 94 camry, still a 5sfe. I dont know how this all works out but I hope to god that a longer axle will get in properly and get power to the wheels...

today, I jacked the car up again turned it on, put the car in gear and tried spinning the wheels, they spun freely. I noticed the axle jumping around a bit near the trans. so i felt and I could feel something like a gear spinning around it. well when my dad got home he mess around with it, and the gears wouldnt go in unless I pressed the clutch in and the wheels wanted to turn... but still not well enough.

so I hope i can get the driver side tomorrow and see if it changes anything,

Wish me Luck,
Kevin

if you are using a 1992 celica axle, it's not long enough for a 6th gen

well come to find out, I had to pound the axle in... so i ordered the right one...

anyway got everything set up to test drive over the weekend... I put the car in reverse... and it moves!!! I get it into the street, put it in first... and it goes nowhere... the effin pass side axle popped out this time... I was stumped... well come to find out, I needed a bracket for the carrier bearing... which didnt come with the engine and nor was it on the ST... and guess what... that pressed on back part of the bracket? its expansive or hard to find... awesome... another week down the tubes...
