thanks Gerald, that is...but it's reversed...lol, only if the silver chrome on the low was black and the inner part where the projector and the park light would be chrome....

Aww, Jesse, your projectors are shot... Completely ruined. That sucks. The only viable option now is just to put them in a box and mail them to me.
I personally think it would look good. The chrome part that came off is there to reflect the light from the DRL, so if you plan on running the DRL/parking light there, you'll need to repaint it chrome. If you aren't going to use that light, by all means, paint it black and see how it turns out. If you don't like it, you can always repaint it chrome to make it look decent from a distance until you get the money to sent them off to have them repaired. -------------------- "Employ your time in improving yourself by other men's writings, so that you shall gain easily what others labored hard for." -Socrates. east, that actually looks pretty good. I'm tempted.. gonna get a few quotes for replating them first, but might do that..
I know dis car black them out it'll look hot. just make sure to go with a satin/matte black What part of NOVA are you from? For some reason I could have sworn I saw you this summer. I was in Fairfax/Burke area in August for a week. This post has been edited by jcbass7: Nov 29, 2010 - 6:39 PM |

jc, i would go ahead and paint them, think about it, 300 bucks for replating?! (or however much it costs)
vs doing it yourself for the price of some primer, some 230 grit sandpaper, some good krylon spraypaint (or whatever u want) and the cost to operate your oven something like a swap, depending on case i understand, but ive learned from the guys on here when u can do it yourself, dont let fear stop you. ive FINALLY learned that, and encourage every member to do it. all it takes is a little artistic inclination and boom! -------------------- |

thanks nammer, i been looking for someone that did that! also, did you tint your low beams? looks like it... i will be blacking mine out as soon as i get them, also for the OP ive always been told putting them in an oven to like 300* gets the glue soft better. (and putting the glass back in to reheat the glue also) No, they are not tinted...it's probably looks that way due to the lighting and the black housing To remove the lens, i used a cheap heat gun. heat it up evenly and pry it open gently with a cloth and wide flathead screwdriver...pry slowly bit by bit going around a few times..if you rush it you can chip the glass at the edges... -------------------- |
