i plan on buying the 3sgte block, and fitting it to a 5sfe head. Ill do the ST 205 drive train swap and and put a nice turbo on it.

This whole statement is 100% a$-backwards.
What you meant to say was you wanted to keep your 5S block and mate a 3S-GTE head and turbo to it. Adding an ST-205 drive train is some serious business - for now you are better off keeping it 2WD and work on everything else including that extremely involved hybrid motor you intend on.

Lololol he's right. A 5S head has a narrow valve angle, while the 3SGTE head had a wide valve angle. A wide valve angle is better for making power.

You need to do some more research man or you're really going to f%^& up your engine.

Come to think of it - if you really want the engine you described all you would need to do would be to source and swap in a 3S-FE. The engine you described already exists straight from Toyota and it makes about 25% less power than your 5S-FE laugh.gif
We're not trying to give a REAL hard time - we just want you to search and read and learn a for a year or so like the rest of us did before we swapped - otherwise your swap will never run properly. wink.gif

thanks guys. i was just thinking about it. we figured if they bolted up we would get the same effect as if we bored the 3SGTE but i havent looked into it much further than just pure thought. so thanks, i appreciate the feedback. so for an all around great performance what engine would you guys reccomend? i mean i know of the V6 camrey swap, and we have a 3SGTE ST205 swap, and those are about the only two options i know of for the celica. . .

Death- thanks man haha, ill be sure to research before i make any purchases, but even if i had the time to do a swap right now i dont have the money. haha, but thanks for all the input because its not like ive ever done this before.

There's the V6 Camry, 3SGTE, BEAMS 3SGE, 16V 4AGE, 20V 4AGE, 7AGTE, 5SGTE (last two are both hybrids) and I'm sure with some imagination and a sh!tload of money, some Honda motors are possible, like a B16, B18, K20, I mean hell, a Norstar V8 from a Cadillac has gone into a MKI MR2, but who would wanna waste their time and money doing that when Toyota has all these superior motors available biggrin.gif

V6 is awfully generic.

There is the 3vzfe, 5vzfe, 1mzfe, 3mzfe, 2grfe.

Came in camrys, es300s, rav4s, tacomas, siennas, avalons, solaras, etc.

This thread makes me lol on so many levels(if youd like to know get on the chat or FB me wink.gif )And matt he has a ST just FYI.

Devon, it seems to me you should get your dads car running, and drive it around. Then realize driving a Frankenstein car around as a DD is a HORRIBLE idea.

#1:You live in the WORST area in the entire WORLD to drive a bright green body kitted illegally swapped car(LA) If you get pulled over once and they ref the car, youll have that on your record forever, youll have to put the entire car back to stock if you ever wanna legally register it again.
#2:Gas prices are only going to increase and LA is now mobiley smogging cars that drive by
#3:As your fathers car has proved, Frankenstein celicas ARE NOT reliable
#4:Your 17...

Im not saying dont do it, and its not possible, but i think your going off your dads example of having one so you think itll work fine. How many miles has your dad driven his celica around LA?Not many. If your gonna go for then more power to you and Me and all of 6gc.net will all be here to help you.

Just remember its YOUR car and if ppl don't like the way it looks then who cares, its YOUR car not theirs and you wont ever meet 80% of the members on this forum so who cares?

ST and GT are the same. I think some custom fab is required IIRC. There is DEFINETELY a thread on here detailing that very operation - search search search!
