I'm trying to search the Internet for a specific type of body add on, but I'm not sure what to call it. My searches have been almost fruitless.

Before the recent rewrite of this site, there was a section for people to post pics of their cars. One was a sweet yellow Celica with a shot taken from the rear looking long against the driver side and the wheels cocked to the left. It's not anywhere on the site anymore as far as I can tell.

But, from the picture it appeared as though the side skirts were OEM. And rear bumper looked to be original except that there was a "triangular-ish" add-on to the bumper (presumably on both sides) which lowered the look of the bumper as it met the rear fenders (just like a lip would do), but it wasn't a piece that went all the way around the bumper. It appeared to be just an "ear" that attached to one side (and another one on the other side).

I liked the way it looked because it was much more subtle than a complete bumper or lip, and it didn't actually lower the very back of the car which would seem to lead to scraping on steep driveways and such. (Though the tail pipe is lower than that and doesn't seem to be a problem.) Plus, I don't think I could talk my free-painter into doing a whole bumper.

Aesthetically, it extended the line of the lower look of the side-skirts through the rear tire all the way to the bumper which then slanted up to the [not-lowered] level of the back of the car.

My problem is that I just don't know what terms to search for. Maybe it doesn't exist and either the guy made it himself in the pic I saw, or it really was a complete lip.

well what i know of, theres the splitters, trd pods, and maybe your thinking of are lips eg z-max lip.

AH! Thanks guys! Sorry for the n00b question apparently. I would have never guessed that name, and it's strange I never came across it in my broader searches about body kits and ground effects.
