i just finish my 4th gen 3sgte swap, so i go to the drag racing this past weekend... In the stock engine (3S-FE) my time was 17,2 :s. Now with stock 3sgte 4th gen, in all stock conditions (oem exhaust system, oem admision system, running oem 8psi of boost) my time was 15.5 with no traction at all! :s

turn the boost up to 17 psi and go back for some more practice, you can get low 13's once you get more practice.

13 seconds isnt easy, the 6th gen is a very heavy car. just to put this into perspective, im my 550HP 7th gen the best i could run was 12.07 at 124MPH and i was spinning drag radials all the way down. and i was weighing about 2500 lbs

Haha sorry but 2400lbs doesnt seem to be a "heavy car" to me. Compared to a 3400lb supra. And yes the st205 is roughly 3,000, but its awd and thatll more than make up for itself in the quarter mile.. |

you have a 4th gen and ran that?! hey man, first of all, a 4th gen runs 15lbs stock (rated at about 260 hp to the wheels) my first time to the track with my 4th gen, and i ran 14.2 fastest time, and thats me driving a stick for a few months, and having those skinny ass 205 series tires and 1 inch rims. no need to tune if u put boost at 15-16psi
IMHO a 6gc with a 4th gen in it SHOULD be a 13.5-13.8 car. but we're fail wheel drive and will spin spin until the cows come home then again, like i said, somebody GOOD would get like 13.5 b/c my r/t and 60 foot times sucked. I though a stock 6gc gt runs the 1/4 at low 16's how did you get 16.8 with your mods ?? Those mods barely do anything despite company claims. Besides there are a lot of factors in drag racing, track prep, temperature, altitude. If you're looking to improve speed, forced intake or save your money. Bolt ons don't do much at all unless the engine was really being starved for air, or choked on the exhaust side; which certainly isn't the case with these cars. Also, what 'they' say is never what most people run. This post has been edited by czwalga: Feb 8, 2011 - 7:11 AM -------------------- -93 Rx7, Turbo 6.1L v8, 725rwhp/760rwtq

Also, what 'they' say is never what most people run. yes i got a 16.8 at the track. it was my first time at the track and i havent gone back since. the cars capable of a 16.4 according to the internet lol but i got a 16.8 is that a problem? sorry im not as good as Toretto lol. and bolt ons to a 5s really doesnt do that much. and if it matters i didnt spin my tires b4 i pulled up to the line bc its my DD and i didnt wanna smoke my tires. so for a 5s, that seems respectable for a first time track pass and not warming my tires up. CZ, i do kno that these bolt ons dont really do much lol i wasnt hopin to get a 15.4 u kno haha i just did this stuff to tinker a bit with the car until i had the money to swap 13 seconds isnt easy, the 6th gen is a very heavy car. just to put this into perspective, im my 550HP 7th gen the best i could run was 12.07 at 124MPH and i was spinning drag radials all the way down. and i was weighing about 2500 lbs then how did presure2 run 13.6 spinning lol? i kno its a 5sfte setup but i have heard of a few celis on here running in the 13s with a 3s setup. not sayin presure2 did that with ease bc i dont kno. but with my understanding these cars.. motor (3sgte), is capable of running a 12.9ishh but with the big traction issue with the FWD setup its verrrrrryyyy difficult. now im not sayin that a 13 second pass with a celica is soo easy, but i do think with the right setup you could get a 13.4 maybe a 13.1. thats with a good driver and w.e else you need to make ur car bit. just bc a car has 550hp doesnt mean its going to go 10s. im shooting for a 13.4-13.7, when i go with my 3s, but id be happy with a 14.4 for its first time out.
